Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn *said with upper crust posh southern accent* (Please don't take offense, it's a line from Gone With the Wind). Also the person that blessed your heart just threw you some serious shade, with utmost southern hospitality, of course.
Well, OP, first you need 4 quarts of a high quality gear oil, but you want to make sure it's to the right specification for your gears, and the right weight - Royal Purple synthetic75w140. Next, you'll need an oil drain container of some kind, to catch the used gear oil as it drains from the differential. You'll also need some shop towels, a good torque wrench, and a can of brakleen...
Bless your heart
Possibly the most informative thread ever on FB
It wasn't nasal. He had a VERY deep voice
I feel like some of us southern gentlemen should send audio clips to OP's burner saying naughty consulting jargon in deep southern accents.
House of Cards accent in real life? Take me
No. I hate nasal twang.
@P1 no quicker way to turn me off than consulting jargon...
All right, all right, all right.
Ha. OP, I wonder if I told you about changing the gear oil in the differentials on my Jeep if that would do it for you? Not preventative, but it is maintenance... 🤔
This is getting steamy
Welcome to Southern charm *said with upper crust posh southern accent* (Born and raised in GA, but spent too much time there, myself, so I moved).

@P1 I'm swooning
@P1 That post is the source of my nightmares. @E2 client was talking about preventive maintenance today... so I guess that?
P1, getting warmer. How do you change the gear oil? Tell me exactly what you're going to do, spare no detail 👅
Next, you're going to want to get your socket wrench set out. You'll need the right size sockets in a minute to remove your differential cover, but we're getting ahead of ourselves here. You'll want to locate the differential housings drain plug. Usually, in most standard Dana axles, this plug is toward the bottom of the differential housing. The plug is also usually magnetic on the back (inner) side, to trap any metal shavings that come off the gears during use....
Once you've located the drain plug, you'll likely need to use the box end of a socket wrench extension bar to interact with the plug and unscrew it from the differential housing. Before unscrewing the pout, make sure your drain container is positioned well under the differential housing to catch the oil. As you start to unscrew the plug, the oil will begin seeping out. It will smell like one thousand hells. It will also likely be lukewarm and slimy. Get ready to get your hands dirty.
P1 this may have lost something in the transcription....
