Hello everyone! I got laid off from a tech startup as a product specialist and I’m currently looking for open product specialist opportunities or advanced roles in the product management space. I have 4 YOE and advanced skills in analytics tools and agile project management tools and processes. I’m open to more challenges and hoping to add more value. My husband and I worked together at the same company for a year in different departments and they laid off 25 employees last week. My husband was one of them. 💔
It was dealt with poorly and severance benefits were bad compared to other companies we are seeing in the media. I’m really struggling to move forward and heal. With so many layoffs and the strange uncertainty of this industry right now—is anyone scared to death?

I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?

So, a spot I made (concept to completion) got shelved due to COVID forcing the client’s marketing plan to change. During that time, my partner and I were laid off. Recently, the spot aired, but the agency credits a different team for the work – me, my parter, and my CDs aren’t listed. Do I ask the agency to correct it? Just throw it in my book with explanation? Does anyone feel they interview poorly because of their nerves, even if you prepare prior to the interview and find good examples of your skills and experience to match the role requirements? My nerves always get the best of me and I tend to ramble when I’m nervous. I had a phone interview with the hiring manager and members of the team that the role would be working with and I feel like I shot myself in the foot a few times. Does anyone have any tips to get past their nerves in the interview?

I'll go first: on a last night out for a navy guy I'd dated for like 6mo he dragged us to king street where i never enjoy, at the bar w the toss the ring game a couple was fucking in the bathroom and the guy in front of me in line was mad about it taking so long so he started banging on the door trying to break it down and started to fight them when they came out. So we escaped to kickbacks where a customer threw a drink at the waitress who subsequently pulled a 🔪
