need advice. I have been working in an interim role as a portfolio manager. I was promised that the role would be mine. However, after doing the job for 2 months, I have been advised that we might not get the funding for the role and I might not get the raise and the title but my responsibilities will be the same. I’m just beginning the lateral hunt and looking to make the move from boutique to big law. Curious what firms, if any, are still notoriously strict about law schools even for a mid-level position. My work experience is spot on, but I graduated from a regional school in the Midwest (top 10% and law review board). Hoping to not waste my time applying to firms that will auto-ding because my school isn’t blue chip.

Returned from sick leave and found out from other people at the office I totally messed up on a project that I worked on prior to sick leave. Now that my reputation has been ruined and facing an upcoming negative performance review. No one at the office stood up for me despite of positive work done prior to COVID or wants to hear what I have to say. I m bothered by this gaslighting practice both professionally and personally. I felt I was designated as the scape goat. Continued.
