i had two companies in a row try to bait and switch me. first one told it was a senior PMM role with about a 20k raise. definitely felt worth the leap, got offered a just PMM title and only a 5k raise. i said no, they said ok 10k raise but we can budge on the title. i said no again and then they come back 10k raise and the Senior PMM title. I said absolutely
not and they wanted to get on the phone and keep talking it out. Hard no. Huge red flag IMO.

The tc was the deal maker for, also I felt I could get an even better exit opportunity from Amazon than from a big4.

I exposed the practices of the consulting/passthrough company to the actual client with whom I have been interviewing, who wanted me, and I knew it, and set my rate way, way, way over what the middle-man was going to pay me, (basically illuminating their margin on me) after asking the actual hiring manager to help with the process at that company, so I can start as soon as possible and start doing what we have been discussing in the interviews.
And that middle-company has loved me for years after that! Why? I don’t know. Maybe they had to.

Only here there was not a typical bate-and-switch, which you are probably asking about.

I gave interview in TCS got selected, HR sent CTC breakup around 60% hike. Then after 1.5 month she said didn't get approval and dropped candidature. Now after 2 months she called again and offered 30% hike.

I recently got a job offer from JPMorgan as well and it is also remote, but I have to go wherever a hub and can visit family with vacation.
