No? Why would you tell them? “Integrity” my ass, this is cutthroat. It’s their problem they pulled a case you had already done
They're usually not.
Sometimes they're using cases from the firm's experience but not necessarily that interviewer. I'm not sure how I would handle it either... I suppose it gives you points for being honest at least. I would think MBB would have records of which case they gave you so that mistake may get caught later anyway
You can tell if someone has done the case before and I got annoyed when someone basically gave me the answers without having asked for the data needed to get to the answers
It has happened both to me personally on a Bain interview where I told the interviewer, and to friend I know for a McKinsey interview. In the Bain case the interviewer had another case and was able to do a decent job (this was on campus round). In the McKinsey case this was the second round in office and they had to scramble to switch the case.
Lol what if it’s a case you’re not familiar with and you say you’ve done it to skip that one?
^not serious intension, just a funny idea
Can’t tell if this is a real thing if these cases are supposed to be a examples of the interviewer’s work
We keep records, this won’t happen
How is it even possible to get a case you’ve done? Are the practice cases from your firm the same bank and interview cases?
