Guys I really need your advice. I accepted the offer from CTS on call for a different location. I will never relocate. Should I resign based on this offer. What's the probability I will get new offer in 3 months notice period. If on formal offer once generated by CTS on email, I deny will they consider me for my current location? Initially in all my email communication they denied my current location and I had no choice other than to accept the offer for a different location. Cognizant

I did this. Quickly realized it wasn’t in my DNA to slow down and my achiever personality wouldn’t change as I became a mother. Within two weeks I expressed to my supervisor how bored I was.
Fortunately, when I was choosing the new role- it was with the intention of having less duties- but it was also with the intention of choosing a supervisor and company who aligned more closely with my personal beliefs. It ended up working in my benefit because they quickly recognized how capable I was and created new positions to accommodate my skill set. This doesn’t happen everywhere, as I am likely an exception to the rule.
Moral of the story: Don’t hold yourself back, but rather, choose a role with a supervisor and company who have values that align with your personal beliefs. You’ll find it a lot easier to work, and come back to work, when you feel like part of the purpose.
As long as you are doing it for the right reasons eg for you and your well-being! I think it’s fine. Only you know the answer to that. Being a parent/ or planning on doesn’t mean you need to not be you and take a step back all the hard work you have already put in! As the saying goes “may you have the confidence of a mediocre white man” 😍
No but I stayed in a not so great job just for the excellent maternity leave (plus I had a ton of PTO saved up). I took every bit and then I bailed for a job/role I actually wanted.

Hell no
Not when I was pregnant, but now that I have a 6mo old, absolutely. There’s no way I’m going back to traveling 4 days/wk.
I partially took an entirely different job
No, but I suppose it would depend on what the new role is and if I’d like it. It would also depend on how physically taxing or stressful the typical role is.
Yes! I actually ended up switching industries completely from the culinary world go moving into a corporate environment.
