Need some advice. Started a few months ago a new job through internal transfer as a lead role in a bank for $350TC. Amazon Web Services keeps messaging me daily for a Principal role and I’m not really in the job market but I think I’ll go through the interview process. I was thinking of demanding the following but I’m not sure how realistic for a remote principle role this is
Base: $240k
Cash Bonus: $110k
Signing Bonus: $150k
RSU: 9,100 shares ($1m PV) in (50/20/15/15)
Does this seem possible?
No - but that smells very dodgy. If they had had to recruit externally then they would be paying the correct rate for the level.
Sounds like an underhand way to save money for at least 3 months.
When you get the review - negotiate it being backdated. If they refuse or go beyond the 3 months - type up your resume ….
It’s happening within my company right now. Any raises from promotions are being held off until January 1st. Hasn’t happened before but unfortunately I think with the upcoming recession we’re going to be seeing a lot of new trends.
I would decline the promotion until they can pay for it. Your loyalty should be to yourself and no one else.
I would take a promotion in title
even if they won’t pay you for it now,
because other companies will pay
for the new title if you decide to leave.
And if you’re entertaining the idea of leaving,
Start interviewing, and see what salary ranges are specified, then share with your boss and if they up your pay to keep you around, great, and if not, may be better to move on.
SAP did that since august of this year. ProMotion pay raise wouldn’t go into effect until January
