Ladies! Is this appropriate for an office holiday party with formal dress code? My first year attending one, wondering if the neckline isn’t appropriate? Thanks!
In terms of benefits (vacation, medical/dental, phone/internet reimbursements, etc), which is better EY or Deloitte? Asking because my niece received offers from both and just wanted to offer her some help in deciding.
Is it a bad idea to take a two-week vacation 6 months into a new big law job? I’m a mid level associate, and my firm has unlimited vacation. I am on track to hit my hours expectation.
Anyone know of companies that don’t have annoying case studies or skills based assignments that take time off from weekend or work hours? -_- Starting to feel like free labor and ideas they can use for the companies.
I had multiple mediations recently. I do management side employment law. Overall I’m walking away feeling like what the heck are we paying the mediators for? I’m tired of the mediators saying they don’t want to hear about the merits of the case. The merits are DIRECTLY tied to the amount of settlement authority I have. I feel like our clients are getting worked way more than the plaintiffs side. Also plaintiffs have followed up every single settlement with “can we get the funds before holiday?”
Hello all! Changing from Vacation and Sick Time to just plain PTO starting in Jan. Staff can save up to 40hrs of their accrued Sick Time banks to use in 2022 in addition to their new PTO. We have a part-time employee with more than 40 sick hours who will try to use as much of their Sick Time as they can before Jan 1. If this person has an avg weekly schedule of 17.5 hrs, can we stop them using sick time if their sick + work time will take them over their 17.5 scheduled hours? Thanks!!
Whats RSM’s holiday calendar look like?
First time in a really long time that there's no line for TSA PreCheck. Guess the other road warriors are on vacation.
Writing the card for the company-wide holiday party at Topgolf and this might be the hardest I’ve worked all year.
Had multiple negative rapid tests and an initial negative PCR tests last week. Only to get a call this AM from local urgent care saying a glitch in the portal system falsely reported negative PCR test results, and the results are positive. I recently attended my company’s holiday party. I’m fully vaxxed w/ no symptoms, I’ve already contacted work and friends I was w/ over the weekend. What do I do now?
If you take vacation, is the onus on you to make up that billable time? If so, how do you enjoy long vacations?
So apparently EY believes that moving to unlimited PTO will provide a first mover/differentiator advantage amongst the big 4.. I’d advise Deloitte, PWC, and KPMG folks to let EY stand alone on this one! None of us asked for this and they are doing it primarily to reduce PTO accrual liability for layoffs/in states where employers are limited in taking away earned PTO
How much do you tip your building for XMas/holiday bonus? The doorman/staff have been awesome so want to make sure I’m tipping a good amount after a tough year.

Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!
If my pto expires at the end of the year will I still get paid out if my last day is Jan 3rd?
How bad is it to renege on an accepted job offer? A new offer came in at a 33% higher tc, this is a senior manager level role. Concerned about reputational impact especially at this level and this cyber industry. Is there anyone who has actually reneged a job offer and can speak to the their personal experience?
What’s your most intense negotiation story? Negotiating to take a senior role at a small company. I’m negotiating the deal to be mostly variable, performance based comp. I’ll make 4x or <50% of what I make now. I’m, what I believe they say, “Shitting bricks.”
FYI - you should still get 401k match from your old company if you leave in first few months of new year. Heard differently on this app, but left B4 in Jan and still got employer match in Feb for 2019
Hello everyone, On Dec 1, Better.com sacked 950 employees and unfortunately I was one of them. I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with a job. I have 2 years of experience as a Operational and Marketing/Financial Analyst and have completed my MBA from Symbiosis International University. I hope to hear from you soon. I am in dire need and would appreciate any help.
How much tip do you leave when you check out of your hotel room? Does your firm allow you to expense it out of pocket?
I have 180k Delta miles and 130k SPG points. Recommended trips (open to US or international) for a week in April or May to leverage them as fully as possible? Live in Seattle and open to anywhere
What is the toughest challenge for a Consultant to transition from big 4 to MBB consulting? I was fortunate enough to get an MBB offer as an experienced Consultant and want to make sure I hit the ground running. Thanks! Bain & Company McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group
Do you have to spend a certain number of months at PwC before you get their parental leave benefits?
Does ZS Associates do remote location flexibility? Or are you required to live in an office city? I'm looking at a Consultant role in the Health Plan & Provider area but would prefer to stay located in the SLC area.
So is HCL back to being a possible treatment for covid? 🤷♂️ https://www.wsj.com/articles/authors-retract-study-that-found-risks-of-using-antimalaria-drug-against-covid-19-11591299329
When you have asthma, but still have to fill out the wellness form for the dentist. (I consider the US to be a region affected by COVID-19). 😬
Is there a TC/title threshold beyond which an MBA no longer makes sense in terms of career progression assuming you want to stay in your industry? Weighing an offer in tech that’s 250-300k TC depending on bonus, but was originally going to apply to b-school next year. Wondering whether that still makes sense if I take it
Reputable agency in my city, lots of awards and good clients (not global)......vs......global agency, (smaller in my city) weaker clients but a 10k raise.....decisions are hard!!!
First year associate, $100K base. Currently living on a $18.5K salary and investing the rest, mainly stocks in the US and some emerging economies. Any recommendations for other sources of investments? Context: I grew up in poverty in a foreigner country, parents make a combined $20K salary to this day, so I’ve never felt the need to live above my means. Coming to the US changed my life, but I still live knowing where I came from.
