Have you ever had unrealistic timelines assigned to you by an SC and despite mentioning how tough it will be to make, it was ignored and you couldn’t finish on time and it was blamed on you by the manager? How do you handle these moments?

Ugh that’s the worst. Do what McKinsey1 said and document everything. Emails for all requests and cc the manager on it so they know what’s going on.

I think it’s a bit of give and take here. They have to understand that they also look bad if you don’t finish things on time. Unfortunately the onus is on you to prove this in our profession, which tauts the ability to overwork and finish tasks. Provide this feedback to the manager and keep the time stamped documents or emails.

Also, have you raised this with the SC? They may not realize how much work it is for you.

I told them it would be difficult to complete on time, told them I couldn’t get to all of it, and what is left. Also worked 12-13ht days to get what I could done for a tight timeline that really didn’t need to be that tight

And I got burned for it

It was not going to the client for a couple Weeks just FYI

Bought a couple years ago in north county San Diego but had to relocate to the Bay Area for my current job. Current mortgage at my old place is ~$3.5k all including principal/interest + escrow (insurance, property tax etc) with a 2.875% interest rate. Never been a landlord before and obviously not a great time to be selling so curious how much would I need to get in rent in order to make it worth it to me and not losing $$$?

PSA: If anyone is looking for an in-house privacy job I’ve had three recruiters reach out on LinkedIn in the past week. I’m not currently looking and forgot I had the feature turned on to tell recruiters I was looking. Just wanted to give y’all a heads up in case anyone is.

Hi all! Looking for a referral for a program management/ FP & A/ S&O role, but definitely open to others. I’m 1 yr out of college working as a sales/styling associate, but have been struggling with finding a job aligning with my career goals. I majored in econ & minored in cs. I also have internship experience in sales, HR, marketing, and styling which makes me a bit of a professional blender, but I’ve picked up many transferable skills along the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Or more Azure Synapse & Databricks
Which of these languages / technologies is good for my future in tech? Or does it matter?
