Feeling hopeful for a job offer in the coming week(s). Would be my first entry to the ‘VP’ level, officially leading my own team and strategy without a CMO. Curious where I should begin with compensation requests - no stock options avail. What’s a realistic salary without cutting myself short? Reasonable to request a signing bonus for loss of end of year bonus by leaving in Q4? What percentage of salary? Does PTO scale up at that level as well? NYC, 10 years exp, Masters, great role fit
On a call with the CEO talking about diversity and they compare a person with tattoos experiencing prejudice in the office to Black people colleague experiences... Meanwhile last I checked, a tattoo was a choice and removable. Also depending on placement, you can’t see it.
What is a good suggestion for a weekend mom-baby/toddler date? Reconnecting with old college friends with toddlers/babies. Not sure what to suggest. Brunch? Morning walk?
When did you start introducing solids? Paediatrician said today we should start at 5-5.5 months. This feels early and there is no medical reason.
Those who have switched firms recently: what signing bonus did you negotiate? And for what staff level?
Hi looking to leave banking operations after 20 years and just finished my MBA. I would like to go into a strategy or product management role. Any advice? I feel like it’s been difficult getting my skills across
Deloitters; is pension vesting tracked by your start date or a certain time of year? And is an all or nothing vest? I might be leavening barely a month from my 3 year vesting mark.
Fishbowl makes me appreciate my client and work more because most others here seems so miserable.
Any chances of McKinsey application getting shortlisted for the associate profile if you don’t have a referral.
Out of curiosity why is KPMG consistently made fun of and considered the worst of the big 4? I've been here a year and love working here, the people and work make me happy to come in everyday
Is it better to roll current traditional 401k (Merrill lynch) into new firms 401k (fidelity) or roll into traditional IRA instead (also with fidelity)? For context, im 27 male, will not need the money anytime in near future. I also want option to convert into back door Roth IRA one day if possible but don’t want to pay any penalties.
So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?
Have people had success applying to FAANG, MBB, VC etc roles on LinkedIn or should I be going about this another way?
A friend of a friend asked if I could refer her to my firm. I agreed (seems like a good candidate and decent fit) since it’s hard to get through just by applying directly online and she doesn’t have a recruiter. We haven’t really talked about the referral bonus. Should I split the referral bonus if she gets hired, or is it fair to keep it since I helped her get the job?
Interviewing with Elixirr next week for a (Senior) Consultant role in NYC; recruiter connected me to opportunity. Concerns are that they do more execution than strategy and quoted compensation at $115K might be lower than industry average. Would appreciate any insight on reputation and career development prospects.
I have an overnight house guest that is very critical of my home unnecessarily and I feel its very disrespectful. Am I wrong to tell them I don't want future visits? How do I say this?
