Maybe that’s just your boss and her individual personality and leadership style and it has nothing to do with the fact she’s a woman. My god we are our own worst enemy 😔
Rising Star
The bosses I’ve had who are women have always fought harder for me than any man I’ve worked for.
Same!
Probably your woman boss just asked for a raise herself and was denied, yet the men rarely know what that’s like.
The only female boss I ever had gave me two raises and a promotion over three years and I never had to ask. I expect she is an outlier regardless of gender. That said, I had a great team working for me and went and asked the CCO to promote them without them asking, made the case. He promoted them. I took a note from her.
Probably just the situation. I am old and have asked lots of supervisors for raises and there was no pattern of male vs. female responses. In hindsight, it was largely how smart vs. ridiculous my request was at the time.
Hear you. I’ve had three female bosses across 8 years and only one or them vouched for me. Money aside they both asked me to be more nurturing and friendly vs. direct and intense, and it may just be a personal experience but it has definitely made me want to work with male bosses regardless of how I’m treated vs. female ones.
