Hello, can someone with amazon provide guidance on how to properly follow up after submitting my application for a non-tech role. I submitted 5 apps so far and will appreciate any guidance or referrals if possible. Positions are related to fraud, investigations, anti-money laundering. Also, if you are a recruiter for related positions, please get in touch with me. JPMorgan Chase Amazon Stripe Chime Google Microsoft Discord Netflix Facebook (Meta)
I was contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a remote Sr. Program Manager role. I took and passed the assessment and was moved to the hiring manager round which was scheduled for tomorrow. I got an email tonight saying that the Director of the group decided that the person must be in Seattle. I am in Austin, which is not an option. I’m disappointed! The recruiter will let me know if any remote roles come up but in the mean time, does anyone have any remote Amazon roles that they’d refer me to?
Who is hiring producers 🙂

No, all of my friends are happy companies are putting these requirements in place.
IBM1 - I don’t think I have a lower standards for my friends than you do - But I do think I hold myself to a higher standard on what it means to be a good friend than you do.
Nope my friends are all excited about them. I also told my bosses point blank that if they hire anyone unvaxxed, I quit.
I do have a friend with several friends / old coworkers she found out are anti vax and for some reason she’s still socializing with them 😐
😩 A2 Im sorry you’re going through it.

Good. When we do go back to the office I don't want to be around a bunch of unvaccinated people.
Do you go out to the store? To the mall? To anywhere in the world? You think everyone around you is vaccinated? How about if they're vaccinated but positive for the virus?
Rising Star
No. All my friends and coworkers are level headed and understand social responsibility.
Ha, came here to say this.
I can’t believe this thread of people lacking the general understanding our friends can have different opinions, different mindset than us and can agree to disagree. Y’all terminating friendships over ones beliefs is just sad. This is exactly what goes against diversity and inclusion. If you want everyone to believe the same as you that isn’t diversity that is division. Moreover, this very mandate is going to spark race wars because a good chunk of those not vaccinated are not white, they are people from other backgrounds. Perfect example 75% of blacks from the ages of 18-40 are not vaccinated in New York!
This will also impact companies ability to hit diversity and inclusion metrics. If BLM succeeds in their fight against this mandate, then companies will have to revert to accepting either vaccine or testing weekly as it should have been all along. I have friends from both sides of the isle that have either quit or will be quitting for various reasons but they are still my friends and I would never blacklist them for standing up for their beliefs and being true to themselves. Isn’t that what we want: we want all to bring their whole selves to work?
Right now all of you should be ashamed of yourself if you are getting rid of friends because of their choice. You all are the ones who are going to drive company culture into the ground and increase attrition. As Martin Luther King said, “Darkness cannot drive out Darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that” each of you are creating hate towards others, creating conscious bias, and lack empathy. Horrible…..
Blood clots are a known side effect of the vaccine. You weigh the risks and benefits (known and unknown). If you know you are at risk of blood clots or other vaccine side effects, don’t vaccinate but don’t run around like it’s 2018 either.
Vaccinated folks running around maskless in pubs etc like they are better than everyone else because they get jabbed and then bringing and spreading the variant even as a non-symptomatic and then telling non-vaxxed they are evil are also insufferable and need to take a look at themselves in the mirror too.
COVID is weird. It gave white men an opportunity to start complaining about their control over their bodies and “freedom” without taking those points to their logical conclusion.
If you are single-issue voting on “COVID freedom,” you by definition are not at risk of your actual freedom being jeopardized in a meaningful way. Like, you know, choosing whether to carry a pregnancy to term. I’ve had a baby and I’ve had vaccines, and I can without a doubt tell you one of those things hurt more than the other. Not to mention your choice not to get vaccinated literally affects my health, but my choice whether or not to have my baby can do no more than, at worst, offend you.
You’re pissed you can’t go to a restaurant because you wouldn’t get vaccinated? This is coming from, on average, the same folks that think it’s ok for a restaurant to refuse service to someone because of who they prefer to have sex with?
Again, one is a public health issue. The other, at most, offends you.
Stupid is not a protected class.

Uh oh, the evil white man is out to get you CA1. Be careful!

Not a single one. They all got vaccinated as soon as they were eligible because they’re sane.

I don’t know a single person who would quit over this. Most had to get vaccinated for college
Yes i make decisions about my health and a good many other things. I don't take this privilege lightly, as I know many have suffered so that I can have this freedom that the world largely doesn't have.
A client just announced they will be firing people next month if not Vaxxed. Their head of SEC reporting making north of 300K quit. She is vaccinated but says that she doesn’t want to work for a place like that. Found herself a better paying job in no time and no vaccine mandate. Good for her for standing her ground that resulted in even better job and a higher pay!
It will likely be more people who earn salaries like hers that will quit. People who are earning less and/or living paycheck to paycheck likely can’t afford to quit.
Also, hopefully her leaving opened things up for someone to be promoted in her place.

My neighbor who is a nurse is anti-VAX and will be quitting her job very soon If she doesn’t get fired. Personally believe she’s attempting to get fired so that she can attempt to sue.
She won’t vaccinate her children for anything. Still has a Trump flag up.
As a professional in a field where vaccination has always been mandatory, she should know better.
No, I am not friends with any anti vaxers. I don’t even know of any. I am in NYC though so I’m sure that makes a difference.
You are hilarious! Are you a partner at Deloitte too? :). Thanks for the laugh!
Good luck finding and keeping their next job. It’s only going to be harder to be anti-vax from here on out. Not to mention it’s usually people coming from privileged backgrounds who are actually able to quit their jobs on a whim - others suck it up, get the dumb (and very effective) shot, and get back to being busy contributing to society.
Absolutely not discrimination. It goes to ability to reason, make smart decisions, and think about the team and the firm. I'm not going to hire someone who fails a case study because they didn't understand the data provided. I'm not going to hire someone who fails to understand the recommendations of every medical institution in the entire world, and every reputable peer reviewed journal.
OP: Friends don’t prolong the pandemic by refusing vaccinations. They’re not your friends.
KPMG1 yes, aren’t you? If not, why not?

Saw above in the comments that the friends in question were nurses. Not at all surprised.
In my experience nurses know absolutely nothing about health while loving to play doctor.
“Aside from them getting vaccinated, there is little to be done as they will eventually come in contact with the virus”
SC2: that’s the point—more can be done to help grandmas, for example vaccinating the general population to lower the probability of them getting the virus or a more dangerous version of it. That’s fine if you’re not in favor of vaccines but let’s not pretend like there isn’t more we can do to help grandmas.
I was in the military, went to war . Had 14 vaccinations before I deployed . I trust science and believe the shot will be an annual thing like the the flu shot . I guess I don’t understand why the resistance

You’re moving the goalposts now. Obviously obesity is a huge risk factor for adverse outcomes for the obese individual.
You made the claim that obese people are disease vectors, which is entirely different. Obesity isn’t contagious. There is no evidence that obese people are more likely to pass COVID to anyone else (you linked an article about the flu, which is a different disease and has very different herd immunity characteristics). They’re more likely to die if they do get it, but that’s an entirely different thing.
Unvaccinated people are more likely to catch it, and are more likely to spread it to someone else if they do catch it. That was the original discussion — we weren’t talking about adverse health outcomes driven by obesity, we were talking about vaccination.
Yes, a few. Ranging from middle to senior-level leaders
That is so interesting to me.
Your friends aren't smart.
I mean if my employer doesn’t require vaccine, I would most likely quit my job.

Say you have no faith in the vaccine without saying it.
To the idiots on this thread who are advocating COVID vaccination as a “my life my choice” thing, no it’s not. If you don’t get vaccinated and stay inside your room forever, that’s fine. But the moment you start venturing out, you’re endangering others as well. And sorry, you do not have that choice. The reason why America and so many other countries have somewhat put COVID behind them, is mass vaccinations spurred in part by vaccine mandates. So yeah, if you’re dumb enough to not be able to understand this simple point, you deserve to get fired and if you’re friends with such people I’d suggest knocking some sense in their heads.
No friends of mine have quit their jobs due to vaccine requirements. Honestly, if any one of my friends would suggest doing this, I would not be friends with them anymore. I try to avoid stupid and ignorant people to the extent possible 🙂.
Sd1, agree with your comments, but can't make comparisons about risk without considering the individual's health profile. This should be done with a doctor, not your employer.
