Have you interviewed for a job where you haven’t even spoken to the recruiter? At this company I’ve dealt with the interview scheduler, hiring manager and even a panel for my second interview with the director and another senior manager…but no recruiter.

I reached out, but still nothing…so I don’t even know the real comp, benefits or specifics of this job. Has anyone encountered this? I’m thinking I’d speak to the recruiter once an offer is made.

Good news is you’re speaking directly to hiring manager! Yes I’ve had hiring manager bypass HR recently….it is possible that either HR is backlogged…or the hiring manager is impatient and cuts right to the candidate. Frankly, all of the interviews I’ve had recently went very well when the recruiter or HR contacts were involved. They took the time to share what they knew about the opportunity and benefits, etc. The only recent interview I had where the hiring manager bypassed the recruiter/HR involvement in the hiring process turned out to be the type of supervisor I would never want to work for because her attitude was “prove it” rather than believing what I said. All of my actual hires were always recruiter involved and the hiring manager is happy and excited to see and hear more about the experience and value I can bring to the team/company. My situation may not translate to yours; however, go with your gut and decide if this type of lack of process and/or hiring approach is the right fit for you.. good luck! Wishing you all the best!

Thank you! When I was interviewed she referred me back to the recruiter for comps and benefits information. I did a LinkedIn search and the recruiter is fairly new to the company. So maybe she is backlogged.

If it has happened to me and it seems to me a very bad strategy of the companies, during two opportunities I was interviewed in more than 4 different stays and the last one is the recruiter with the job offer, the first one I did not like at all. but the second time they made me go through a process like this, I thought that if they were taking the trouble to do all that and using my time, I should be demanding because they were measuring me to know when they were going to pay me, when the job offer came I told him that I would work for 10% more than what was offered, and here I am. I think that if I asked for 15% they would also have accepted it.

I haven't interviewed for a job where I haven't even spoken to the recruiter, but I can imagine how frustrating that would be! The recruiter is your main point of contact during the process, so it's important to build a good relationship with them. They can be a great resource for finding out more about the company and the role.

like

Yes, I have! I was actually really impressed with how the process worked. It was very efficient and streamlined, and it made the whole process feel much more manageable.

like

Update: the recruiter reached out but it was more of something that should have been done in the beginning as far as asking me why I want to work for the company, why am I leaving, what would my leaders say about me and what would my team say about me. Like a mini interview after the fact to cover her bases.

She ultimately gave it to me after I insisted and contrary to her initial assurance, when I looked at it myself, the car had an open recall. Do I raise the concern with OMVIC (vehicle sales regulator) or am I just pissed off and should forget it?

Hi everybody ! I’ve been working in Dubai for the past 6 months as a Marketing Manager in a Web 3 firm. Coming back to the US due to visa status, I’m looking for a similar position in the Crypto Industry. Due to the very technical nature of the industry and market sentiment, there are only software engineers being hired and no marketing :/ any recommendations to go into those technical Industries as a marketer ?

Was tasked with designing a campaign for Pride month even though I'm a straight male. I told my boss that I believe someone from our team who identifies as queer would be more appropriate for handling this campaign as I don't wanna feel like I'm intruding in something that doesn't represent me, but she said it is because I am a better designer. Curious how other marketing teams like to share resources internally. I'm considering creating a centralized hub where departments can access news, branding information, logos, premade materials and basic templates like letterheads.
