Airplanes have very clean air

that time I used The Points Guy as a source. 🤦‍♀️
How would people know where they got it? Did they willingly take a flight knowing they’d get COVID?
Pretty sure less than 2% of air travelers during the pandemic have quarantined on both ends of the journey. At least in the US.
Thanks all. Asking not for myself to travel but because in a few days I plan to meet someone who traveled recently (wore cloth mask and showered when arriving) and I live with elder relatives, so prefer to be more cautious.
Meet or “meet”?
If you stay outside and 6-10 ft apart with face coverings you’ll be ok!
i think typically people show symptoms within two weeks? so that could still be good period of reference re: safety, although i know someone who tested positive 3 weeks after exposure
I had a friend decide her family would fly to their beach home on the shore. They all took COVID tests before they left—all negative. Wore N95s on plane. Super cautious when they got to their house. Within days of reaching destination my friend got really sick. Went to urgi care to get meds and took COVID test and was positive. The entire house of family day by day also got sick and all tested positive for COVID. Btw my friend is an elite athlete. She did not have a mild case and was sick for two weeks. now nearly 6 months later sane said she still has no smell or taste. After this story I refuse to travel on a plane until I get the vaccine.
This just happened to my boyfriend! Midwest to CA. Symptoms showed up 9 days later. Also 100p from the plane because he hadn’t gone anywhere before or after the flight... google the story about the United airlines passenger who had very *noticeable* COVID symptoms and died mid-flight. People knowingly travel with symptoms and they don’t care.

No, I don’t.
Wear an N95 mask and a face shield (same equipment medical personnel wear at the ICU minus the suit). Shower when you get there. You’ll be fine.
COVID symptoms will present between 2-5 days after exposure for most people. But flying is fine - in an environment where everyone is wearing their mask (e.g. airports and planes), risk of transmission is low - and the N95 protects not only others but yourself as well.

How TF are you finding N95s for sale

There have been several stories of people who flew knowing they had Covid. It’s estimated that around 40% of cases are asymptomatic.
If you live with elderly people, you should only meet with people while wearing a mask (and the other people should wear a mask too).
