Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

EY, I got my Roth IRA contributions set to max (30%). Does Fidelity automatically lower the % and stop contributions afterwards once I reach my 2022 limit?
Also at Deloitte, I had a couple thousand contributed in the beginning of the year. Does EY's 401k keep track of that as well towards the limit?

Hurry up and settle
I being billed for both people’s hours for the meeting? Also, if the paralegal is dumb AF and can’t understand simple instruction, and we go back and forth 5 times, how is it fair for me to pay for all those hours? Did it really take you 20 mins to send a one liner email (which adds up)?
I’ve been refraining from being the difficult client, but I feel like my attorney is pushing my limits each month (boil the frog in lukewarm water) to see how much I’ll take without complaining. Could be just how I feel.
How did other 🐠🐟 handle this?
Sadly that’s how they play. Every email sent was $18. Every minute of conversation, even if that was to fix things they messed up. Mine kept making spelling mistakes and then charged me to fix them! I did eventually escalate but the seniors in the firm were all in on it. I was offered a more senior and experienced person - of course at a higher rate if I was so dissatisfied. Once it was all said and done I did express what I thought of the company. Good luck in getting to the end. For me the hardest part of the divorce was dealing with my attorney.
Seriously- I’m using a mediator for mine and we are ALMOST done with our agreement, and we just got charged another $400 because I pointed out errors that we had gone over when we were with her in person....when we were charged $800 in the first place. It’s been months of this and it’s so frustrating, but he makes more than me and I left the house so I feel like I have to put up with it.
Lol that’s what consultants do
Have you questioned the extra person in the room?
You have to consider you're paying for them to be in the room and you directly fired that person. What would happen if that happens in our world (a fired resource staying for a client meeting).
For your education, lawyers bill in minimal increments. They do not bill per minute
I had this once as a banker and my client was stuck with a $2,000 bill because his lawyer responded to several clarifying questions
