Against White Feminism by Rafia Zakaria - Truly eye opening! Impact Players by Liz Wiseman - great if you feel frustrated at work and feel like your efforts aren’t valued Human + Machine - great if you’re unfamiliar with AI and want a beginners business perspective on it Swipe to Unlock - great if you’ve wondered how big Tech works. Can easily read piecemeal or read at once. The Midnight Library - fiction (I know not what you want) but when I say this book helped me find comfort in loneliness and depression I mean it 💛

I like all the Brene Brown books. Currently getting a lot out of The Gifts of Imperfection. I found Rising Strong a bit repetitive but others love it.

Yep agreed on brene. Just read dare to lead. It was really helpful in having challenging conversations with team members up, horizontal, and down the chain. How to be a power connector by Judy robinett (good for networking, lots of fluff but has good main ideas, perhaps view the cliff notes) How to win friends & influence people by dale carnegie Currently reading the 21 irrefutable laws of leadership by John Maxwell and I really like it. It’s immediately actionable and easy to follow.

Cisco Pros: - fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say. - Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work Cons: - red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

Do you have any book/video/whatever recommendations for how to be a good manager/lead? I'm trying to make the transition and get more responsibility
