Have you seen your app idea executed before yours because of lack of funding?

Unfortunately, yes. This is a common occurrence in the app development industry, as it can be very expensive to create and market an app. Many great ideas never make it to market because getting funding is definitely a challenge.

I always had an identical idea to Tinder, before it was developed.

There is an application that asks you certain questions and depending on your answers it tells you how drunk or stoned you are, I once had that idea with some friends hanging out, later it was developed by someone else :'(

I remember fantasizing about how cool it would be to be able to point a camera at a plant and be able to identify it. Guess I wasn't the only one who thought of that one though

If I was born maybe 5 years earlier I would've been the first to create an Uber-like app

Asking for a friend.
He works for Pwc and had year end discussion in which he is told that they are planning to put him under Performance improvement program post 4th July. His i40 was approved last month, I have 2 questions.
1) If PWC terminates him, will they apply to USCIS for revoking his i40? Does the big 4s generally withdraw?
2) given his scenario, should he just move on to new employer or will he risk or loosing his i40 in this case?

The concept of fiduciary responsibility to excuse shitty behavior seems outdated and tied to the notion of endless growth as a goal. E.g, Apple restricting AirDrop in China as it was being to used to spread information and bypass the great firewall. I’m sure there are plenty of even better examples of this. I think companies should make it clear what kind of moral stance they have and actually stand by it, and investors should know what kind of company they are putting money in. Do better.

Hi fishes,
Data Engineer, yoe 4 years, got offer for 21.5 fixed and 5.375 variable, designation offered: data architect. From tier 1 college.

How much should I ask for in current company. My director kept on asking for full offer letter so I gave him. Will that be a threat?

If I can be egotistical for a sec, people keep telling me my book is one of the best student books they’ve seen. How the heck do I actually find a job though? Feel like I’m lost when job searching.

Have I just had bad luck with the companies I've been at or is it like this everywhere? I've had 7 managers in my 4 years of experience, 3 in one year at my first position (which is why I left) and now 4 at the 2nd company in 3 years. There has been a mix of people leaving and people getting fired but the instability feels extreme.
