Find them a replacement for you and leave.
Good advice. This is a very small industry so not worth burning bridges. I’ve also been in situations where I carefully avoided any convos about perm. Ended up freelancing there for 3m then they brought me back for other engagements and none was the wiser that I thought they were crazy and only wanted freelance
Agree. If u can leave, leave. You dont owe anybody anything.
Yeah I had one last year. I never felt comfortable. Couldn’t wait to get out of there .
I don't know what to do at this point. I've set up a check in with my manager and I kind of want to be asked off the project because I'm just not the right resource for this but I don't know a way to do this diplomatically
I have been in that situation. I spoke to my manager and flagged my concerns on day 1 of the gig. He convinced me to stay on, but it took the pressure off since I had given them an “out” because I felt I was not the right resource. Ended up extending a couple times but I was honest along the way about it not being the right fit for my skill set. I think it’s better to be open and confront it early — it’s not personal and you’re not saying they suck.
