Is it just me but have political correctness, individualism and self esteem mongering gone too far? I can’t tell anything to my 22 year old daughter unless it’s sweet, light and approving at all times. Any instruction, input advice has to be provided in sweet tones or I am mean and vicious. I feel so fake about not being irritated, anxious or impatient around her, always this carefully cultivated calm model mother. It’s COVID times and we have had a death in the family, gods sake! Let me be me!

Anyone ever get burned out after only 3 years? My first year was awesome. 2nd year, covid hit. This year, my schedule has had to change 3 times so far. I have the largest caseload in my school. I feel that I'm not good enough. Got thrown under the bus today. Just had a no good, horrible kind of day.

For schools with a mask mandate: Are you having trouble enforcing it? In our school it's become a nightmare. A third of them are wearing their masks as CHINSTRAPS! it happened really suddenly a few weeks ago. The other 2/3 don't cover their noses. I address it over and over again. Five minutes after I do, it's back on the chin. I think it's become some kind of "cool" thing to do. I'm addressing those with mask mandates, NOT looking for a debate. Abusive arguments = reported 🌈🌈🌈

I have moderate-conservative views. My team, 6 other people, are all very left-leaning. Politics isn't usually discussed outright, but the liberal views frequently seep into our meetings. It's uncomfortable for me; I can't chime in when they talk about media, covid, news, etc. because I don't agree with their snuck premises. I get along with all of them and I don't think they realize I'm basically a closet conservative. Anyone else feel like a total outsider on their team?

I’m in an upcoming wedding and just found out the bride and groom aren’t vaccinated nor do they plan to. Do I pull out of the wedding? Most of the invitees won’t be either I’m guessing and masks are optional. I’m vaccinated and in the bridal party but I’m really nervous with the Delta variant. I want to be supportive but she hid this from everyone until now.

How do I reconcile my own ethics around individual and society acting on Coronavirus? I believe that people should act responsibly for the safety of others (by social distancing, masks, etc.) but I also feel like people should have the ability to decide what they want to do based off their risk tolerance. But doing so would increase the risk to others.. how do I settle the cognitive dissonance between these two ideas?

Is it weird to mention i got laid off due to Covid in calls with recruiters? They keep asking what I’m up to/why I’m searching and really not sure how to phrase without coming off negative or desperate. It’s a buzzkill during a good conversation but I feel like it’s going to come up sooner or later?

I recently went through a long period of rough time. And this friend of mine was there for me for most part. I did use to reach out to them when I didn’t feel good. And I probably know they mean good but they know now I’m doing fine and still every time we chat they ask “doing well?” Asking me doing well only reminds me of my not so good times and don’t know how to tell them to stop asking that every single time.
