I know work is a lot of our days, but work isn't our friends and family. If I get chewed out by a client or a manager, I can log off my laptop at the end of the day and it stays there. My wife and friends don't feel the same way about me that my client does, and that's all that matters.
If I had a bad day at work, I'll do better tomorrow. But at the end of the day, you leave a client and that's that.
It started affecting my mental and physical health so I knew I had to snap myself out of it. To everyone else, this is nothing more than just a job and there's no need to take things personally and suffer.

I’m a couple years into working in consulting. Taking work personally is something I’ve struggled with a lot early on and even now. My advice is to be kind to yourself and know that you have a team behind your back. Also, at the end of the day, it is only a job. Find ways to disconnect when you are not working and do not dwell on what may have gone down at work. Good luck!
C2 - I’m with you. Hard to not feel like you’re just a well-paid machine in that situation. Little motivation to work hard for a bad team.
