If you’re worried about this, get some regular food and steam it (like sweet potato pieces) You don’t need a fancy device just a normal steam insert. You don’t have to purée it either. Mash it a little in the bowl before you feed baby (or not, if you’re doing Baby led weaning, also check that out).
Get frozen vegetables and a microwave steamer. No effort required
I like Yumi more for the variety of ingredients (e.g., dragonfruit, chard). I’m way too lazy to prep a bunch of purees.
Citric acid is literally just lemon juice used as a preservative. Not very concerning imo.
And ascorbic acid is vitamin C! Don’t be overly afraid of chemical names.
I liked them too- huge variety of ingredients (lots that I would not typically purchase myself) plus they add spices. Think the exposure helped since now toddler is a fantastic eater. We sent Yumi to daycare and did BLW at home, until we stopped purées at 9ish months
They are pretty high sugar content compared to Serenity foods purées

We use Yumi with our 6m old. It’s great and they send cool swag in the boxes. Last time we got a smock for her to wear while eating and it’s way better than a bib.
The one thing I’ll say is that it’s almost too much food in each delivery when you are just starting solids. But other than that, we’ve liked the quality and the baby seems to enjoy them.
