Anyone need a job in Denver
Marsh & McLennan McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hi everyone. I am an international MBA student-athlete candidate trying to get into consulting.
I would like to know if anyone has any networking suggestion for internationals in my same situation.
Is there event to attend in the North/east area that I can use to leverage some connections? Online events?
Any type of comment is welcome.
Thanks

Not defending the OP at all, but some of these attitudes are pretty pathetic. Really tired of entry level people on my team balking as soon as they have to work past 5pm. Sorry, but consulting isn’t a 9-5 job, if that’s what you want go for it with all the trade offs that come with it. However, you don’t get to complain about work life balance, then turn around and say your bonus is too low and industry is boring.
Keep in mind that partners at your firm are working more than 40 hours per week at every firm. If that’s not for you, then fine, but when the workload exceeds what you’re willing to do, it’s time to transition out of consulting. Otherwise you’ll end up counseled our anyway, while burning bridges and screwing over the rest of your team.
M2 recruiting on campus across many firms is putting emphasis on “work life balance,” the same stuff we hear internally. Fortunately, anyone with any tenure can see through it, but new hires aren’t so lucky. Firms didn’t used to advertise things like that.
Ok u old geezer
What if they just don't like you and you drain the desire out of them and their behavior isn't reflective of them but instead it's reflective of their opinion of you? 🤷🏻♂️
Some people live to work, some work to live. We know where OP falls.
Bunch of entitled sissies. So freaking sensitive about everything. Just shut up and finish your work.
@OP instead of complaining on FB, why not start grooming those millennials to be better at their roles... Someday they will be leading the engagements.
Im 31, hardly a generation thing. It's a life experience and reading the room thing. One of the diversity segments we often ignore is socioeconomic status. I worked my ass off to get where I am. This job pays us an unreasonable amount of money and in exchange we are asked to do unreasonable tasks. If you don't like it, there are plenty of lower paying g jobs elsewhere. Work hard, contribute or get out of the way.
Uh OP wtf is your problem, are you an old white dude who this suffering is pleasure? Let people live
A3 but that shouldn’t be the expectation. Just because one generation goes through hell doesn’t mean it’s right and should be applied to everyone else....
I m a douchebag for wanting people to shut up and just do their work? So be it, call me a douchebag. Just do what you are paid to do. Stop bitching about travel and consulting work that you have signed up for
Preaching work life balance doesn’t equal 40 hour work weeks; again, if that’s what your firm is communicating shame on your firm. Work life balance is more around flexibility and being able to find ways to maintain your personal priorities around your work expectations. Again, not saying firms could do a bit better communicating this, but you are hiring really dumb people if they see a consulting firm say work life balance and your recruits are interpreting this as 40 hour work weeks.
Hahahaha I have a manager that complains about working passed 4pm it is not the generation it is the individual
Well the world needs ditch diggers too
It is what it is. Work like a dog then beg like a dog to get staffed... #ConsultantLife
Why does ANYONE need to justify what bothers them? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, dochebags like OP will go about spreading judgement on an entire generation of people because he has a problem with people complaining wth?
I agree with OP. Too many entitled sissies out there. If I want work done, just get it done. 2 hours or 12 hours, I don’t care. Just do it.
I agree with A3. I’m 29. Complaining in general is one of the most meaningless and life draining things you can do. I understand the occasional bitching every now and then to let off steam but if you’re complaining about the same thing day in and day out, you should do something productive about it. If you’re gonna complain but are not actively doing something to address the issue then stfu
I thought we have to adjust our differences in order to work well together. That includes generation difference.
