Is it standard to display your gender pronouns on zoom/slack etc in business school? I’ve noticed this is ubiquitous at Haas, but wondering if that’s specific to them
Breastfeeding on a zoom call. Yay or nay? Was awkward in the call today. With webcam on. No one said anything but can tell from the faces the bewilderment. 5 people call. 3 women and 2 men. Kept up to point and wrapped the call quickly. I am one of the males btw.
Any other single professionals getting tired of picking up the slack for coworkers with kids? Why is work-family more important then work-life balance?
My company is transitioning from wfh back to the office, but everyone returning to the office is supposed to be vaccinated. I told my boss I would NOT be getting the vaccine and he said I wouldn’t have a desk in the office until I did. So I told him I would continue to wfh. He said that “wouldn’t work.” After our phone call, I got an invite for a zoom conference with my boss and an HR rep!? They’re infringing on my rights by requiring a vaccine. What can I do to make sure I keep my job?
Happy Almost New Year, Folks. If you ever thought, “maybe 2022 is the year I put my portfolio together or try my hand at creative” good news: winter/spring session AdHouse Classes are up. We are on zoom, so can be from anywhere.
Perhaps the correct response to fatigue over endless video meetings would be to rethink meetings and schedule fewer with only needed attendees? Meetings were broken pre-pandemic. Zoom is just putting a face on the problem. We don’t need more phone calls.
Is anyone going else confused and upset agencies are making people go back into the office? Commuting is horrific and wastes time, and honestly I work more efficiently from home without distractions. All for the option to go in, I just think it’s super tone deaf to make people go in again. The world’s changed. Don’t move backwards.
Just got a fidget cube because I’m self-conscious about how much I touch my face on Zoom calls. Has anyone else done this or something similar?
Anyone else experiencing mic picking up low/ no voice though the mic is unmute, suddenly during a call on Zoom?
Since this is an open forum where we can be honest, I've assembled a list of billable litigation tasks that can be done from a playground: Conference calls, File review, Fly on the wall depositions where your camera is off, Zoom cattle call status hearings. Any other suggestions?
Does anyone here take a 'lazy day'? Where people think you are just working at another location but you are at home with Skype on pretending to be busy?
SOS I have a preliminary recruiter screening on zoom for a consulting firm. Do I wear a blazer? Or just a nice work shirt?
Does anyone here use legal zoom? My local attorneys are so expensive (I’m scared to send them an email) and wondering if I should use services like legal zoom for reviewing contracts - property management, leases etc. Any suggestions to find someone good and reasonable for long term (DM me with referrals pls)?
I know what all my female coworkers kids look like because they’re always in their lap or in the camera view on meetings. But I can’t say the same for my male coworkers... are men really not helping with their kids during WFH or is this just an illusion of my zoom calls?
Does anybody else think that the Wharton Slack & Discord groups are kinda quiet/inactive compared to admit groups from other schools?
I am sure this has been asked before but are there any good therapists that you can see remotely? (I.e Skype, FaceTime, etc.)? Currently traveling Monday through Friday so makes it hard to see one
Any exit opp for remote work? (middle east based) or atleast hybrid Realized i love remote work and hate office work. Been back fully 4-5 days per week at client site for a year now and cant coop with commuting, client demand when face to face and just being there while joining still zoom calls.
I don’t know if I’m from a different generation but I can’t believe I have to ‘set expectations’ w my analyst to at least check their email *once* on the weekend to see if anything’s blowing up
How to lose your job like a pro: 1. Set my LinkedIn profile to “Open to Work”. (To get contacted by recruiters) 2. LinkedIn automatically generated a public post for me to inform everybody (without my knowledge) 3. my manager just liked the post. 4. Now I have an awkward meeting to attend Monday morning AMA 🤦♂️
Got a new BA and had a bunch of work for him to do on Friday. Monday he asks "is it always like that? I'm not used to putting in 8 - 9 hours on Friday." Who actually says shit like that? #smdh
I just started my job in consulting, and all I'm doing is taking notes. How long did it take you to start leading these engagements?
Female here. Had a female client berate me and undermine my role in front of the whole team. What is it with some women find joy in belittling other women??
Advice please. I've worked with a guy for about 10 mons. Never been interested in him. Couple weeks ago we bonded over drinks. He mis-interpreted the entire situation. Now he thinks we have a thing.
So my BF follows Kylie Jenner on snapchat and it started bothering me recently when I realized she puts semi-naked pics up on the reg. Do I have a right to say something to him? It just seems weird.
MBA hires, do you find it difficult to work with managers and partners who are undergrad hires promoted through? Why?

That awkward moment when your client whips out an electronic cigarette and starts puffing away mid presentation.
Not sorry about the TMI...anyone else ever drink so much coffee that your piss smells like straight coffee?
I have a medical reason for not driving, I provided a doctor's note stating that I can only drive within a limited range. Current project is outside that range as a compromise I can carpool with +
Lol when EY has to sort through my 800+ crypto trades in 2017 across 7 exchanges to complete my taxes.
Transferred to a new group this year, but am in a promotion year. I’m nervous I won’t get promoted even though I am performing at a senior level and my reviews reflect that. Any advice on what to do?
