My jaded experience is people are rarely happy for someone else’s good fortune/opportunities.
Two weeks will be gone before you know it. Onward.
Be nice and humble and generous with your kindness on your way out the door. It’s not you, it’s them.
Well I’m happy for you!
Most of the time, their response is less about you and more about them - their unhappiness, their frustration at losing a good partner and teammate, etc. keep your chin up, take the high road, and you’ll be outta there in no time. It is a crappy experience but is also an important life lesson so you don’t treat others the same way in the future, too
This happens all too often. Which is why I NEVER give more than two weeks. One week would be ideal although frowned upon. Hang in there. It’s awkward but you’ll be gone before you know it.
Personally I have felt annoyed when the person leaving does not take ownership of their transition plan. Which unfortunately has happened too often
