Having a panic attack, feel like this Russia thing is going to trigger a world economic melt down. And I heading to Bschool in Aug. So scared to be burning through all my saving just to have no job when I leave

I get it. But if it's not Russia, it's a pandemic, a bubble burst, or something or other. The world is not static my friend.

I wish I had an answer that could take your panic away. Sadly, anything can happen. The only way of knowing is to live it and know that even through the worst economic times in the modern era people made it through.

Try not to stress much about it. Stress about what you can control/impact and ride along with what is out of your control.

Going to bschool is probably the best thing in that situation. All your savings are toast anyway. At least with the MBA you’ll be able to find a job once the economy picks up again!

Don’t worry OP. I entered a great B school in the summer of 2008. 50% of the previous batch interned in investment banks, MBB and T2s. Coming from a Big4 I wanted (and had a high probability of) to land MBB. Couple of months later Lehman went belly up and I ended up interning with a mid sized IT firm. 12 years later I am definitely not where I thought I would be but hanging in. You’ll be fine. Ignore the people laughing at you for airing a genuine concern

It’s not the Russia thing triggering a meltdown, but it’s not helping. And you should be concerned. Writing has been on the wall for a while. Massive economic inequality. Climate change. Polarization. Distrust in institutions. Overwhelming oligopolistic behavior in the largest economies. This are gonna get real, really soon. GMO’s Jeremy Gratham once again predicting the future, and it’s scary.

You’ll be fine; companies like Raytheon and Lockheed will need MBAs for years to come….

How much did you save?

At least you will have a good excuse to not be drafted ;)

This Russia thing??

Why because Russia hasn’t always been Russia?

Has China not been China?

These political issues are cyclical.

I think you should be more concerned with adding to the levels of student debt that will likely default triggering another recession.

Y’all have time to read the news?

Op isn't getting that job...

It’ll be fine. It’ll will pass relatively quick just relax and focus on school
