Having a panic attack working remotely. Can’t do anything today without crying, feel like it’s going to backfire on my performance. Is going to the er my only option right now ?

Definitely email and say you are unwell and take the rest of the day off. Tomorrow too. And yes go to the ER. Are you having chest pains?

Oops sorry, just saw this was 2 days ago. I hope you are resting and doing better.

Go to your normal doctor as a walk in, explain the situation, and they will likely give you a prescription for klonopin which is a lifesaver. Short term fix but it works wonders

I think a general practitioner would be MUCH more likely to prescribe anxiety meds to a new patient than urgent care where it may be perceived as drug seeking behavior

Oh god. I’m so sorry you went through this. You’re not alone & hope you got some relief

Something that helps me is to take deep, slow breaths and tell myself that it’s going to be okay. It sounds so simple / almost silly to put that in writing, but I think this is similar to more formal meditation techniques (breathing exercises, reciting mantras etc). Also if you’re tired take a nap. Eat something & stay hydrated. Don’t worry about work, in the big scheme of things it’s not important. Is anything triggering your anxiety? Are you overly stressed from work or is it something else? As others said, a doctor can help with short and long term solutions. Be open with them about everything so they can be maximally helpful. You’ll get through this 💕 sending positive thoughts your way

What is your greatest fear and motivator? I give myself a hard-time if I’m not constantly improving or “leveling up”. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll center myself too much on career progression...

I feel really lonely. I’m stuck in an awful cycle of me not being able to find the right guy to be in a relationship with and becoming more depressed and thus became more determined to find a guy to my sadness. my therapist and I are working on shifting my mindset, but I feel like it’s taking too long and I just want to feel better as quickly as possible

Performance review recently, good performer and all is going well. Up for promotion. Then my project MD emails me saying we should connect and I go into tailspin thinking I’m in trouble. Logically, am I getting fired? And why is this exactly where my mind goes?

What are good topics for therapy?

Started Zoloft a little over a month ago. I’ve been taking it around 9am with breakfast. It’s helped me a lot so far with anxiety and mood. But it’s making me so tired. I go to bed around 10-10:30 and naturally wake up around 7. But I find I wake up often during the night which makes me not have restful sleep. Should I try taking it in the evening? During the day I’m usually very tired by noon and wanting to nap.

Has anyone taken any sort of LoA to cope with mental health issues? I’m 6 years in and the past 2 or 3 months have just been the most anxious and unhappy of my career.

Why is it so hard to find a good therapist? Most of them are just listening to my rants. I'm not sure that is what they supposed to do. I want someone who can help me with some plan to get better

I'm currently planning to quit my job soon. I'm leaving due to burnout, and realize I cannot better take care of myself until I leave.

When I talk to my coach or engagement managers, should I just be honest as to why I'm leaving or should I provide another excuse?

I wonder if it really has to get to this point for them to care and offer to help, or the firm (Big 4) just won't care at all. I am indifferent about the latter, but I just wonder if that's what others experienced?

Im beginning to feel like everyone hates me & hate working w/ me. WFH and barely talking to/having face time is making my negative biases worse. Anyone feel similar and/or know of solutions like meds?

Effing anxiety. Does it never go away? Mine comes and goes in cycles. I feel like I am doing fine one week, and then suddenly it arises and worsens and makes me want to end everything. And then I live like a walking corpse for a few days not able to feel anything coz I have given up on life. And then it gets better. Every few months. Is it going to be like this all my life?

I really really don’t want to go back into office and it’s giving me anxiety
