[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?
Hello fishes, I joined Nagarro on 24th of August. But still no project is assigned yet. Basically I am on bench. Now I am about to get an offer from ServiceNow. I really wanna join ServiceNow as it's a big product based organisation and the competition is really high compared to Nagarro. ServiceNow is giving me a joining date of 1st October. As I am still on bench, will I get released by Nagarro soon ? Because no project is allocated to me.

Bowl Leader
I’ve been there. I didn’t push back and kept pressuring myself and my team to deliver. It didn’t end well in short term. Long term, it’s a case study for me for what not to do.
Lessons learnt:
1. Nothing is worth an unhappy and burnt out team. Nothing.
2. They may/ will screw your upward review (and they maybe justified). This may or may not matter at your firm, it did at mine and my promotion was delayed by 6 months even though I delivered (overworking both my team and myself)
3. It’s not just your problem, ask for help, for guidance. Make sure they understand the risks of quality, team churn. Make it a shared risk that everyone takes and they don’t ding your review if there are issues later.
4. This is your moment of growth. Define the kind of leader you want to be.
DM me if you wanna talk more.
Been in consulting for over a decade and found myself thinking about throwing in the towel. I’ve had perfect performance up until this point, and there is no way to turn the project around. I hate to think that one horrible project is going to impact my overall career trajectory.
