Same and buddy I think this is a byproduct of our profession! Don’t let it compound, think about how you can avoid the same mistakes going forward (maybe in a journal) and be ok with acknowledging that you’re human.

I used to feel horrible after making mistakes, would apologize profusely and would often say it will NEVER happen again. I’ve really worked on myself in the past year (left my old firm, started meditating everyday), and now I take a different approach. I still occasionally apologize, but Ive decided I will no longer say that it won’t happen again. And that’s because I know I will never stop making of mistakes, and I’ve learned to be ok with that. As long as you know you are trying hard, that is enough. Don’t beat yourself up.

Last year, the CIO asked the IT team (I was part of) to introduce ourselves in a meet and greet via Tiktok - whether it’d be group or individual. Being a new joiner, I decided to do solo. I took it seriously and dance my arse off. I’m glad I left them last year as well 🥲
