As a father, I would do this in a heartbeat. $20k is not worth missing those special moments

Imagine this conversation interviewing for his firm.
Candidate: “the market is really competitive, I’m interested in working for you but I’d like $X”
Justin: “that’s great, but unfortunately what you’re asking for is what we get candidates. Here, our biggest point of pride is enabling you to hit your beer leagues regularly and put your kids to bed”
Candidate: “I’m sober and have no kids”
Nothing wrong with this imo. He's showing he gave the candidate what was important to him. If the employee in question is content, why is this a problem?
Fing tool bag. Taking advantage of someone seeking a job. Know what happens when you lowball someone? They start looking elsewhere. Guarantee you that guy isn’t stopping his job search and will jump ship as soon as he has a better offer
True, but he’s talking advantage of someone who he knows already earned more. He’s doing it because he can and he knows the candidate is in a position where they are obligated to accept. That’s taking advantage. It’s a scumbag move.
I did this! I took a pay decrease (10% dip) and accepted my current role to get out of toxic env. I got a decent hike after completing 8 months with the company and I am sure to get a pay raise and a promotion by end of this year!

If I’m an employer, I would be proud. You’re saving $20k on hiring this guy while still getting the same responsibilities, more or less. AND this recruiter still probably got his finders fee. A win-win for everyone except that new hire’s wallet
But this candidate will constantly be looking to leave, because he knows he’s worth more. If you think he’s not considering it, you’re wrong. This will stick in his back side every day until it’s rectified. He will build resentment towards being forced to accept it.
Exactly, Amazon! Now I hate that one recruiter who bragged about lowballing a candidate. But this, no issues

Wouldn’t a good recruiter actually be able to negotiate $150K for his candidate? Sell the company on why they need this guy at that rate?!
Ah, Wednesday evening beer league hockey games.
I think this is something that should both be normalized and praised. All the other bowls are full of people talking about how happy they are trading a higher salary for better WLB, so I’m happy to see recruiters using it as a tool.
