Would you be okay with your daughter joining a sorority? Assuming for this post, that covid is no longer an issue.
My firm was one of the firms that gave covid bonuses but did not specify whether everyone was getting it. I didn’t make my hours this year because I was on maternity leave and a bunch of my cases ended 1-2 months before I went out so I had lower hours before I started my leave. I couldn’t make up for those lost hours when I was back since I was working from home with an infant because of covid. I didn’t get the covid bonus, which in my mind is ironic considering the circumstances. (Cont.)
Any insight on getting MBA from mendoza as far as prospects for transitioning into a post-mba strategy consulting role? It’s ranked outside the top 15 but from research seems like it still sends plenty of grads to top consulting firms (not MBB)
Slalom Consulting folks: what salary would you expect 1-2 years post-MBA? Medium COL city if that matters.
Want to have a child and get an MBA in the next five years. Any ideas on which I should do first? I hear it can be handy to be pregnant during school to minimize time out of the workforce. I'm 30 :)
Were anybody gradschool interns here at b4 midsize? I'm going to graduate right after my internship ends and wanted to know if it's typical to start right away instead of the year gap for undergrad.
So with further vaccine rollouts on the horizon, it will still be several months before COVID is "over." Whenever that happens, do you think this bowl will die or be renamed/repurposed to something else?
Why is ACN strategy unnecessarily selective? They only recruit from a select few schools (no exceptions) even if at another top school. MBB/Deloitte/OW/Parthenon/LEK/ATK have much greater flexibility.
Anyone letting their hair grow out and donating to charity after COVID ends? I haven’t gotten a haircut since before the pandemic and don’t feel safe to get one until it is over. For people who have donated hair before any organizations you would recommend?
How hard is it to move from BB M&A Group to HSW —> MF PE? Is it doable to apply as an associate and then go through that to post MBA ?
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
How is non-MBB consulting viewed in the big scale? Looking into exit opps, but people keep acting like I’m giving up gold by trying to leave, yet I feel like almost anything is better than here
My anxiety/depression/imposter syndrome has relapsed throughout covid. Last year I had just started with therapy when covid hit and I slowly stopped because I don’t feel comfortable doing it virtually with roommates around. I feel like I had made all this progress and it’s just slowly fading away. I spend my weekends alone with my thoughts for so long that I feel lonely and cry. How are you all able to cope with this feeling that this is forever
What are the best consultancies for digital strategy and customer experience design? Do any of the B4 or MBB have strong practices here?
How much work, if any, does MBB do with Bill & Melinda Gates, World Bank, USAID, etc.? Could one specialize in doing this type of work?
I think (fingers crossed) that I am about to get a job offer for a management role. It would be a 45 percent pay increase and I honestly might be able to negotiate it to up to 55, but I just don’t feel excited about it. It’s a smaller company then where I am now, but still a decent size and great reputation, but the team is much smaller. I really want to be more excited because I know it’s a good opportunity. Any advice?
What are you doing for your mother today?
First year C here. Button down + chinos + blazer okay for the holiday party? Too casual?
If anyone is interested eliminating the IFs in their employee model practice let chat. I’ve been consulting advisors for the past 10 years on ways to dominate the IFs. Doing so creates consistency leading to focus and focus equals growth. What are your IFs - comp- product push- flexibility- compliance restrictions ????
Any company file GC on day 1 in NYC or NJ area or east coast. Maxing out in feb 2022 and on bench nothing is started. What I can do ? Please suggest. Skill set AWS/ DevOps/ Infra.

2 YOE in financial services Corporate Strategy hoping to transition to tech, will be heading to an M7 MBA next year. Looking for a pre-MBA internship at a tech-driven startup before then - please let me know if you have any leads!
Did you know? “Women receive ‘negative personality criticism’, such as being called bossy or told to ‘watch their tone’ in around 75% of performance reviews. Men, on the other hand, rarely do.” From https://cultureplusconsulting.com/2018/03/10/gender-bias-work-assertiveness-double-bind/
I’d like to apologize in advance as this maybe a touchy topic for certain folks. For those that have been in the Big 4 for sometime now (i.e. was hired before this covid induced hiring spree over the past couple months), are you concerned that your market value would decrease as a result of the firms hiring people left and right? In other words, the recruiting has been excessively relaxed now compared to when there was intense competition.
Is the issue with personal expenses charging it to the card, charging the expense to the client or both?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones? https://blog.shrm.org/blog/9-interesting-interview-questions-that-actually-reveal-a-lot-about-candidat
PSA when a Westin tells you they’re taking extra precautions and super cleaning everything they mean they aren’t cleaning anything, not changing out dirty washcloths from previous guests, and removing
Can anyone tell me about Deloitte’s DCE departmental culture? I am interviewing with them so any insight is appreciate...
Any thoughts on Davita as an exit opp? Recruiter reached out for a Strategy / Ops role. Stalked LinkedIn and their people have similarly strange backgrounds (i.e. HYP UG in ecology, Stanford PhD, etc)
Any clue about 1st year comp for a strategy Partner at KPMG? Considering making a move at the Director level. Thanks!
