Watergate, very historical
I've never been on the inside, but the exterior is very 70s. The location is nice, close to Georgetown and the National Mall.
Hay Adam’s
Strongly recommend Hay Adams, and if you go post Covid you have to go to their Bar Off the Record. It’s fantastic and usually filled with WH Press Corp and Staffers which is cool do you’re into that.
Don’t stay at the W, rooms are meh, but the rooftop bar is dope if open when you go.
Stay home

Are you heading there soon? I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near DC from now through inauguration
JW suite with a view of the washington monument
Thank you all for your responses. I should mention that I'm trying to stay a Hilton or Marriot residence (trying to use my points for once) .
Please don’t come. Stay home. There is a deadly pandemic.
Yeah, people taking "calculated" risks are exactly the problem. Right behind people like you.
Hay Adams or the Four Seasons Georgetown
For your Marriott Points, go to the new Marriott Marquis by City Center. Cool building in a terrific location with plenty of good restaurants nearby. For Hilton Points, there’s a brand new Canopy by Hilton at the awesome new Wharf development. Right on the water, with great restaurants...you could take a water shuttle from there to Georgetown for a nice scenic activity. These are both honeymoon worthy and brand new options.
You’d enjoy the Wharf! They deliberately only rented out space to local or regional restaurants and shops... Mi Vida is upscale Mexican and its sister place is The Grill. There’s upscale doughnuts. There’s a branch of Hanks Oyster Bar which is a local favorite. Cool falafel place. And several I haven’t tried yet. Local bookshop Politics and Prose opened a branch there. The property itself is nice architecture. Only a ten minute walk to many of the Smithsonians and the Jefferson Memorial. If you go in cherry blossom season, it’s probably the closest home base to East and West Potomac Parks.
The Graham hotel in Georgetown is real nice. Has a nice rooftop bar as well.
Mayflower, W for POV Lounge (although you dont need to stay there to go to POV, JW has some pretty cool views due its location in Penn Quarter provided you get upgraded (no lounge though). The St. Regis is really nice too.
Thank you all for your recommendations!
