Hi all - I’m working as a Jr AE at a remote agency. Before full-time at this agency, I interned there for 2 years and often did pro-bono work. I love my company so much, but I often feel stuck when it comes to salary and growth. The salary is minimum wage and every time I ask about a raise they agree I need one but never get around to it. Today, I was offered a position at another agency as a remote AE with more than double my current salary. I didn’t seek this job out but don’t know what to do.
Will it hurt me in the long run to have comms experience in different industries? My agency is hiring and I'm watching folks at all levels who would otherwise be qualified for a role be disqualified because their experience isn't solely in the tech/B2B space. I enjoy the work I'm doing now but I'm still so new to my career that I can't help but be curious about working in PR for fields like entertainment or consumer. FWIW, my internships were all fashion PR and I didn't think I'd be in tech.
Does anyone have a suggestion or could point me in the direction of a potential volunteer speaker who could speak about mental health issues and self care to a school board and staff group, virtually? (I’m a school attorney)
What are the ultimate consulting exit apps (I.e? specific role/team & industry) for the non-technical consultants? Looking to understand the exit opps available that: 1. Pay in line with MBB or exceeds (YOY raise is also in line with career and pay progression at MBB) 2. Have reasonable hours, at most 9-7 so I can pick up some hobbies and have a personal life 3. Have great global brand/prestige that will make me as desirable exiting consulting now vs exiting that company in the future
I posted in the Healthcare bowl but didn’t get quality responses. PE is notorious for being difficult to break into unless you’re IB. However, there are success stories of consultants making it. Healthcare consulting is lucrative because it requires a very niche knowledge base that is honestly rather difficult to acquire. I’m wondering if that niche knowledge base would make it easier to exit to a healthcare-focused PE firm. Thoughts? Also, general tips for moving to PE would be helpful!
How often do you convert your after tax 401k contributions as part of the mega backdoor?
Can someone provide feedback on this offer? Analyst role, fed govt contract analyst. Currently <2yoe in audit. Role is max 40 hours a week. Pay will be 80-90k. I like the hours and deviation from accounting, worried about what a government role might do to my career projections. Thanks!
Considering an expert role in healthcare in mid Atlantic region at McKinsey. Any thoughts about culture, wlb, tc, etc? Have read through a bunch of older threads. Opinion seems mixed. Negatives mentioned include more intense work hours than integrative track, second class citizen, slower career progression, lower pay than integrative, harder to get staffed on engagements, poor integration into teams, and subpar exit opportunities. Also read this is changing. Would appreciate recent thoughts. 🙏
Any fish familiar with Apple's OPD group? Thoughts on potential exit and expected base comp? MBA with 5 YOE, seems like it might be a step down from MBB Associate comp but tempted by tech exit and work life balance...
Does anyone have financial anxiety ? I realize I have a toxic relationship with money, maybe because I just started my career (I’m 26yo). But when it comes to spending, I get anxious. I did everything right: saved enough for emergency fund, 401k, Roth IRA and investment stocks. However, I’m always afraid to spend a lot for certain circumstances (ie. Health, moving/new apt, etc..) and be left with less money since I work so hard for it. How do you overcome this stress and anxiety ?
Need help making a choice- MS epidemiology and biostatistics at Columbia, MSQM Heath analytics duke fuqua, JHU MS applied health informatics. My goal is to work more in data analytics RWE primarily.

My sister in laws firm has no employer contribution in 401k. In that situation, which is better - putting money in a Roth or the 401K?
Hey Salesforce 🐠. I had a first round interview (hiring manager) ten business days ago and haven't heard a peep since. My workday still says "Interviewing". Is that normal? Does it ever change to something like "pass"? Should I just move on? 🥺
Is it possible to roll only roth 401k from previous employer to roth IRA and leave the pretax 401k in the plan?
What’s the difference in the types of exit opps between MBB and B4 consultants? Is the gap really as big as people make it or does it mainly come down to networking, relevant skills, and luck?
All - looking for a referral to the product development and procurement fellow role at Mckinsey. Please dm / comment. Would appreciate your help.
How much equity would you expect when joining a series A startup with ~50 FTES? A few pieces of info: role is D of strategy. Company is in healthcare (non-biotech). Highish COL city (if that matters). They’re offering what feels like decent cash comp (~200k).
How hard should you actually work in consulting? Obviously we have utilization requirements so we work long hours but I’m tired of giving 100% of my brain power. Is there any benefit of working harder? IMO there’s an incentive to work slower
Another win for diversity!
Anyone in Anthem’s Strategy Consulting (ASC) group that can give insight on the company, role, culture etc.
Hearing back from Deloitte and PwC Canada with interviews after we’ve made the decision to relocate the US. Should I accept the interviews, I’m very conflicted now.
Not dick measuring but really curious on what the % raise you've gotten the past 2 years. Gotten 4% and 3% here and feeling like I'm getting screwed over.
Capital One Venture or CSR?
My Director just chewed me up and started taking over as a lead on my project... 3 weeks in of having no clue what I'm doing, working 10 hrs+/day and multiple sleepless nights, I have to say I'm so relieved. Is it a good idea to take a step back and let my Director run things?
Going through one of the phases where I’m hanging on by a thread (and I’m not even frequently traveling right now!!), ugh. Preschool parent visits, rsvps to birthdays and school events...
How is the business going for all you consultants? Are your companies getting new projects? Any layoffs ?
Current H1B expires on Aug-21 but extension has been approved till July-24. I haven’t gotten the new visa stamped as yet since most of embassies are shut and appointments are a mess! Is it safe to move jobs without stamping?
I'm working to build my companies first ever internship program. Does anyone have tips, do's/don'ts or other suggestions as to how I can make it as successful as possible for the selected students? Planning to have 5 over the summer of 2022 as a start.
What is the compensation range and average for a Managing Director (junior to senior MD) at Accenture in US Strategy and Consulting?
Hi Everyone, I have an upcoming JAVA interview. Experience 5yrs. What kind of questions are expected? If anyone has any list of questions or link, please share. Thanks in advance.
I have 8 lions. 10+ clios. Lots of Luezers’, being on juries, good salary. But honestly? Tired of advertising and this business model we all know very well. Choose an option to reply: (A) stop complaining big crying baby (B) retire and go to Hawaii to surf (C) who cares?
First time negotiating salary with multiple offers. I would appreciate if you can provide any advice on negotiation tactics. Do you disclose your other offers? Can they rescind their offer if I ask for higher compensation? I am trying not to come off as a newbie that they can lowball me
