Lots of times they're entirely separate entities just housed in the same facility

like

Same as if you built a house but had to pay electrician and plumber separately.

Are most people satisfied with their experiences with their general contractors?

like

is there a specific question? as it’s phrased right now, they are totally different entities. quest diagnostics #1072 is different from dr. smith’s office is different from st. mary’s hospital.

like

Because we wouldn’t want nationalized healthcare, would we? 🤪

like

It’s billed separately because of the US fee for service model. Only you can decide if you prefer that to other alternatives.

Above comments are right. It’s also just a legacy thing where hospitals weren’t as integrated and didn’t actually employ doctors in a lot of cases.

like

In theory it is efficiency and econmies of scale.

A specialized lab can operate in a much cheaper fashion and address non-urgent tests for those able to schedule lab tests.

Effectively though the billing and management has gone sideways

Insurance.
The answer is always insurance

Thank you for that hashtag, OP. I laughed.

I remember I went to the hospital once and was charged $700 for 2 stitches . Also hospitals will bill you and sometimes the doctors office and ambulance will bill separately also

This is the std model

I know the answer to 1st is yes, but what about 2nd one?

Hi all. I am licensed in life, accident and health and am looking for new opportunities. I’ve been working in employee benefits in a small brokerage firm on a book of business of over 400 clients, I’m the only account manager. We’ve had 100% employer retention since I’ve been here. I am a high performer, but not sure I’m valued much at all . I want to reach the top and become partner in my career ; this is why I went to work for a small firm. My boss favors others when I do the most work!!

I’m sure this won’t come across well but I have to say it… my husband and I make good money (about $600k combined) and are grateful for it but these Biden tax increases are going to kill us. The truly rich don’t get hit hard meanwhile it sucks to be an upper middle class family. No matter how much I make somehow my take home seems to keep going down.

Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer? I hate leaving money on the table but there are some good roles out there. I’m not fully vested in my current 401k yet and my stock grants haven’t matured yet either. I would love some advice. I told my manager I wanted to resign. I was planning on giving a 1 month notice. (the ppl are great but the product is meh and the projects I was assigned were highly complex causing me to feel overwhelmed and anxious. I've never been an anxious person.)I'm interviewing at other places no offers yet. My boss and her manager offered me to take a 2-3 week vacation (I used 1 week in a year, I have DTO), reshuffle my projects, and offered me a mentor. Should I stay or not?
