Reminds me of fun conversations my parents used to have about politics at Dad's engineering firm.
Dad: "New partner is a chutiya. He is ruining the firm with nepotism and can't sell for shit."
Mom: " You keep on doing your good work and mentoring your juniors. Don't let the chutiya drag you into his chutiya-chakkar." My mother was a truly remarkable woman and I miss her terribly, esp during PwC CRT season.
Pwc3 - understood but within consulting, it has typically been certain groups that miss their earnings. And everyone suffers. Imagine getting laid off when you worked on the iPod/iPhone team because the Apple TV group shit the bed (early Apple TV reference, not sure of exact years)
I am pretty sure i could write a novel on why 2020 wasn't gonna happen.
I call BS. Low performers will be axed I'm sure, but no "layoff". It's easier to spot low performers when the going gets tough because they don't have coattails to ride on
Are you just saying this to stir the pot? ...
Kinda expected when most companies missed their earnings. No money to pay us expensive consultants. I'm moving to infosys lol
@D1 - I wish you actually had the balls to tell that to the 20% of your firm that was just laid off. Yes some may not be the top performers but let's be honest, not everyone in 200k+ firms is going to be A game. It wouldn't even make fiscal sense if they were. But I know some in that blood bath you enjoy also have children to feed and now have no income. True leaders want people to thrive. Good luck getting to the top if you enjoy blood baths.
EY5 is right...no "layoff", just a focus on removing low performers
The FSO Advisory BAP bench just two months ago had both the fatness and the potency of the largest blunt ever rolled. I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but what I'm saying is that the bench was huge before we sold several massive AML projects.
What about 2020?
Interesting. They have almost 300 people working 7 days a week and have told us practices are hiring and we need more people but then you hear this. Gotta love the telephone game!
Funny how many people think it's just "trimming the fat"... Until it happens to them. News flash: we are ALL dispensable. None of us are special.
EY is not conducting mass layovers. - FSO Advisory Partner 2
I mean D1: chutiya.
^ chutiya.

How reliable is the news. I will start floating my resume. I am not going to wait to figure out if it's a layoff or low performance...
Glad you guys aren't entering the airline business
Deloitte and PwC are trendsetters.
Blood bath.
Clearly a lot of D and PwC folks on here were laid off. EY ratings just opened today and convos are just starting. My team has new hires starting in the next few months and next to no availability. Let's not shit the bed until the shit hits the fan people.
