I have 2 job offers and need to make a decision by the end of the week, for a data analyst position.

Company A base salary 90k
Company B base salary 95k

During the hiring process I mentioned to company A my salary expectation (80k~90k) and this is the company I would like to join.

I do not know if I should mention to company A that I got another offer for 95k and negotiate the base salary.

Any thoughts?

The salary in HR will always vary depending on the industry, size of the company and location. Also, it might be different depending on your experience and education.

Folks recently joined P in the tech consulting practice. One one of the calls I realized that we are not really selling solutions but mostly staff aug for clients. Is that really how P does business? Coming in from big 4 this was a surprise to me. Given that most D and MDs are homegrown, probably used to this way of business, however we are not selling solutions is a concern in my opinion. Too many things at once means I can’t do any one thing right. Trying to draft something but need to get our 5 emails on something else, immediately revise that thing and get it out, speak to the person to update them on that other thing, where am I on the initial thing? Why was there an error in the draft? Because I couldn’t focus and you kept asking me to get it done and I had a dozen other random shit pop up that took attention and then I had to rush back to your shit.

If partners milk you during your stub year (200+) hours a month, don’t you have the right to know that those hours don’t count toward your total as an associate?
