Tacky imo
This is a prospecting urban legend. Just like the guys that prospect to the old folks at the McDonalds breakfast club.
Closest I’ve heard to this is a guy who would buy ten $5 Starbucks gift cards, tape his business card to the back, and give them to ten people as they walk through the door. He’d basically say “Coffee is on me today, so please enjoy it. If you want to talk about planning for your financial future at some point, please give me a call."
I’ve heard of this. May be a good tactic when starting out to get your feet wet on how to talk to people initially. However I doubt you’ll attract anybody with wealth. People that get interested with an easy pitch like this don’t typically have wealth from my experience.
I think that is the most haphazard way to try and get business. My luck, a group of 35 high school girls would walk in and blow my whole budget
I haven’t heard of this but I can assure you I know multiple Jones advisors who in fact prospected McDonalds Breakfast
