Heard there were layoffs at Ogilvy. Who’s left over there?

Now is time to buy low but I'm worried about getting laid off & needing cash to pay rent. How are you all managing opportunistic investments with concerns you should focus on your emergency fund?

Any advice for the folks who have just been laid off?

Thoughts on DataRobot? TC they are pitching seems great and stereotype seems (?) to be that they have smart people working for them. But heard about covid layoffs and I'm not sure it's a brand name, which is a priority to me. For context, I'm a data scientist and they are recruiting me for their CFDS role.

What made you get fired?

I’m starting a new job in the middle of November. Should I ride it out until the very end or should I wrap up 10/15 and then take a month off? I’m okay financially to go a month without a paycheck. There are so many rumors that there will be more layoffs in October. If I were one of the people to get laid off and got severance, it would be idea financially. It would shatter my ego though.

If a former manager never fought for you or bothered to reach out when you got laid off and then creeps your LinkedIn every so often is it worth keeping them as a contact, or remove them?

Hi Fishes, Anyone who joined PwC AC Bangalore recently and is/was on bench for 2-3 months? I'm worried about getting "FIRED". Does PwC fire in such cases? Connected with Deployer, Coach and RL many times they say I should wait and need not worry whenever requirement will come they will inform me. I have been on bench for 2+ months now.

Layoffs at VSA Partners today in Chicago and NYC. 25 people. Don't worry, though, because almost all of the director level and execs didn't get cut! Phew! Only largely senior level designers! (Yes, being sarcastic.)

I was laid off one week after returning from my second mat leave. For my first, I was told I couldn’t be promoted until after leave. I’ve talked with a lawyer and have a case. But is it worth it? And:

Can someone explain to me why the government doesn’t just freeze rent and mortgage payments during coronavirus and then provide unemployment to those who need it? Seems like everyone could get a temporary free pass if the fed on down forgives loan payments throughout the crisis, and unemployment benefits / stimulus provided to individuals could be significantly lower without having to factor in rent. What am I missing here?
