Poor Chris Wallace!
You clearly “heard” and didn’t research. The second half of his order was fo used on vaccine encouragement
Every headline focuses on “no mask and no vaccine mandate” so that is going to be seen as neutral at best on vaccines, regardless of his CYA in the 2nd half.
He shouldn't be taking power away from local leaders who might be hit especially hard but the new variants/surge. Texas is a big state, I can understand saying there won't be one rule for all on masking, but why not allow local leaders to put in measures that might be life saving for their communities?
They are consistent in being inconsistent. And then they’ll proudly admit to being inconsistent only for the sake of controlling others’ lives and look at you like YOU’RE the crazy one.
Consistent with GOP governors’ frequent message of being entirely opposed to Federal mandates as “terrible overreach” but completely comfortable telling localities what they can or cannot do. Funny how that changes when they are the ones holding more power.

The only two sacred tenets of modern conservatism are hypocrisy and grift
Well, I suspect most ppl (who aren’t looking to immediately rebut a comment) don’t do “research” every time they hear something on the news either. One of the reasons for clear, simple messages.
The best thing about America is that people with different views can choose to live in communities that match their own values. It allows us the strength of united economic and military power while reducing the amount of people who have to live under laws they don't agree with. The division in our leadership is also a strength as it prevents any single faction from becoming too powerful. We've seen what happens when one dominant viewpoint take total control of a nation and it usually doesn't end well.
I don’t disagree with your sentiment, EY. My point was not that we should have universal rules or laws. It was that in this case it might make sense to encourage—not force—people to do something that could very well save their life, or their neighbor’s life. Rather than the top priority being grandstanding or scoring political points. (By the way, I feel the same way about politicians on the left trying to use this as a Trojan horse to massively expand govt…the difference though is that their words haven’t made people vax skeptics).
What if Trump had been in the vax PSA w Carter, Clinton, Bush, and Obama? Would we have as many skeptics??
I'll just leave this here.
