Heard today that our equity partner bonuses for 2019 (paid out in 2020), may be delayed. As an owner, I can appreciate that cash flow is vital. But, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little concerned.

Would think in times of "crisis," it's important to keep up with partner payment as they bring and maintain the clients; otherwise, there would be lateral moves...

Yeah it’s a problem

What else is there to do?

Same at my firm. I’m very concerned. Is leaving even an option?

We’ve paid out in small chunks. Some partners are paid up. Others, including me, are still owed significant amounts. I’m concerned because our aged A/R is climbing and operating account is decreasing albeit slowly.

So many headhunter calls. Leadership is in a tricky place. So many "friends" and loyalists on the dole. So much pressure to support D&I. So many headhunters trying to poach talent. Dangerous curves ahead.

Where are the headhunters placing folks, though? Are people doing zoom interviews? I think we’re going to see a lot of boutiques and small firms created soon. They won’t have the overhead of rents, assistants, etc.

My joining date is coming closer, however education background checks are still processing ( international degrees) . My onboarding coordinator told me that I can still join even if education check is still in progress, provided there wont be any flags. I don’t see any issue with my degrees and have done same with my past companies.
Anyone experienced this ? Any problem joining while check is processing ?

Ladies how do you manage your relationship when your spouse holds you to what you promised you would do before you got married but then you realize you can’t do it. I had promised my husband I would fast with him for an entire day on a specific religious holiday, but when I did for the first time I had stomach pains, headache, and nausea. I told him I can’t do it for that long again but he said “we’ll see, you just need to push through”.

I am trying to figure out at what point I might stop giving her raises. On the one hand, she is a valuable employee. On the other hand, I could probably get someone cheaper who could do the job as well and giving a raise every year because she expects one may be too generous. I appreciate input.

D&I clearly is the morally right thing to do. Will lack of opportunity and other headwinds for non-diverse talent force talent to leave and form boutiques to compete on skill. Will put tremendous pressure on the business model of latecomers to the world of D&I. I fear carnage ahead for mediocrity.
