Hmmm. When you’re new it’s easy to feel intimidated and closed off. They likely are looking to you to make decisions in this process because they’re in “observe and get accustomed“ mode. This does not excuse bad work or typos — so I would suggest showing that you care, and then point out the errors in a way that sounds like you sincerely want to help.
“Hey, I know first hand how hard it is to be starting out in a new role/new company — and I want to help you succeed and feel confident. Here’s some things that I’ve noticed that I know are easy to miss when you’re still getting up to speed (point out errors). Keep an eye out for that moving forward and you’ll do well here.”
Best case: They do get better and also respect you for looking out for them.
Worst case: Things don’t improve over time because they are simply not great at their job. They will likely not last long with the company. If they do then request a new partner and show the mistakes/errors you’ve been covering for.
Best of luck!
What advice you looking for? Asking how to mentor them? Talking to your boss to get paired with someone else? How not to lose your mind? What are you looking for?
Yes.

Some people are bad at their jobs. Give them a little time. Have a chat about your collective goals for the work and your production as a team - pushing the style, etc. If that doesn’t help, ask your managers about getting a different partner. If that doesn’t work, start looking for a new job.
Amazes me how people like that get to fill seats while there are others in the trenches, working hard to be good candidates, to no avail.
