I’m expecting a child early next year and I’m in the middle of interviewing at some companies I’ve been interested in for a very long time. At what point in the process should or do I have to tell them I’d be taking mat leave soon after I start? I don’t want to be dishonest but getting an offer without this is hard enough I feel like this would be a blocker. They are big enough that it wouldn’t hurt them. Also their mat leave benefits do say from day 1...

Hi! I’ve had a few recruiters reach out about roles that look very exciting but I’m really worried about leaving my current role before my 401K vests in early summer. I just feel it may be fiscally irresponsible, although I’m ready to leave. Is there a right way to bring this up with recruiters for either a work-around, or so I can keep the relationship going and be on their radar?

From doing tax work you see the potential in building a real estate portfolio, but lately I’ve been having doubts about it even being worth doing if you don’t have the real estate professional status with the IRS. Do you all think it is worth it, or would you rather put your money in the market/401k/IRA? And yes I understand the market is bad right now, I’m talking in general when the market is normal.
