I just signed my offer from Deloitte and put in my notice and my firm gave me a counteroffer matching the salary, giving me a retention bonus, and setting aside a budget for multiple trainings I want to complete this year. Any thoughts on accepting a counteroffer/ the benefits of having Deloitte on a resume for future exit opportunities vs having a longer career history at one smaller firm.

As part of unit reorganization due to economic slowdown, a couple of months ago, my temporary contract was not renewed, even if my feedbacks were excellent. Do you think that it would be better to “lie” in the cv and during interviews telling that I am still working for the employer or it is better to tell the truth saying that currently I am unemployed, even if there could be some biases due to the working statement? And how it would be a nice way to justify the unemployment statement?
