Hello All, I have 5 years of experience in Big Data Engineering/Analysis. I am thinking to go for a Post Graduated program in Big Data or Data Science. I have few questions. Does this really helps in career ? If yes, What is the best program I should opt for here in india ?

If you do it from a reputed institute like Great Lakes or something, then it is the best thing you could possibly do. And tbh it help in a quick high jump compensation vise and company vise bcs institutions like GL also assist in placements and other things and they really do come handy when you're looking for a decent growth.

Considering switching from Deloitte to PwC or GT. I interviewed for a similar team to my current one. The team at both PwC and GT is smaller than Deloitte. I have been working at Deloitte for 1.5 years. Has anyone left Deloitte for other Big4 or GT? How was your experience? Or people working at PwC or GT, how do you feel about your team/ opportunities to learn/ work life balance? Does it look bad to leave Big4 before completing 2-3 years?

I have a quandary to share. My work exp has been tech heavy, starting as a software developer for 8 years; outgrew that. Then for the last 4 years, DevOps, specializing in the Cloud, IaC and GitOps. The tech parts (sans human) feel empty sometimes, and I want to try out transitioning into product. As DevOps, I have loved my share of helping internal customers (dev teams) as well as being an advisor. I love unsticking people. Is it possible to market that for job desc that asks for mgmt exp?

Do you find companies today interview without empathy, over-valuing technical skill, pressure tests, and first impressions?

A follow-up to this, if you’ve been hired by a company based on your skills, ability to perform under pressure, and first impression- did you feel you made the right decision once settled in your role?

I’m analyzing the evolution of interviews and a human-centered approach.
