I’m working on an application for an exec assistant for a ceo and the application wants desired salary. I feel like that’s a trap. If I put something to low that’s great for them but if it’s too high I don’t want my app to be tossed immediately. What should I do?

Has anyone else gotten several years into a specialist practice only to realize you have serious deficits in your knowledge? I’ve somehow had very prestigious jobs in my field for the last 4 years and yet I clearly have serious substantive gaps that even my supervisors seem to be aware of. I’m very confused by this and concerned about what this means for the future of my career.

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks.
