I personally feel that it's absolutely ludicrous the US government is not enforcing or at least asking people to wear masks in healthcare environments like at the pharmacy, doctor's offices, or the hospital. We all wear ours behind the counter but I had a patient come in today WITH covid to pick up her prescription, no mask. Has anyone actually looked at the math, calculated, and compared a freelance day rate of about 1-1.2k, booked for whatever % of the year, versus a full time staff salary of say, 200k… at what numbers do they even out when you factor in taxes, health insurance, paid vaca time etc? Hard to say which is more lucrative with the variables, but, any insights?

I'm a retail employee, and I've noticed that a lot of my colleagues are really stressed out. They're often working long hours, and they don't feel like they can take time off when they need it. I'm worried about my own mental health. Is this what all retail is like?

Just scheduled a meeting to go over an offer for a Senior Engineer role. When asked what I would need to make in order to leave my current job, I said at least $160k depending on benefits (I know I shouldn't have given a number).

Transitioning from com. lit into tax controversy?

I have a tax LLM and started my career out of law school doing M&A tax at a big4. After 9 months, I got out of big4 transactional hell and into whatever litigation I could find. I now practice commercial lit but would welcome the opportunity to eventually transition into tax controversy (which I wasn’t able to do before). Does my commercial litigation “break” hurt my prospect? How long can I stay in com lit without hurting my chances even more?

Is it almost 100% to be released right away when I give the 2 week notice to join other B4 firm? Audit to FDD.

I’ve been a data analyst for a little over a year for my current employer. I manage databases, input new information, solve issues utilizing root-cause analysis, and I maintain reports on a daily basis. The only thing I don’t do is work with coding such a SQL. I’m currently enrolled in Coursera Google Data Analytics Certification to learn more about SQL.
I want to get a job in data analytics that uses SQL. How do I show that I know SQL without having direct SQL related work experience?

Does anyone have any thought on JD/MBA programs? I really like Kellogg’s shorter 3 year program vs a full four at HBS or some of the other schools but wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat.

My undergrad degree is in gov but I currently working on consulting for PE right now, with dream goal to end up in VC or PE post-MBA. Practice tests have gone well for both GRE & LSAT but lower GPA from a public Ivy, so not sure what’s feasible.
