Looking for thoughts and opinions about HR involvement in employee promotions. More specifically passing up an experienced employee for not having a college degree. We have an employee in our office, who applied for a promotion and despite having a degree, would be a perfect fit. Several supervisors recommended this employee for the position but HR denied the promotion for lack of a degree. I have a graduate degree and I still feel that experience is sometimes more valuable. Thoughts?

Potty training tips? We just started with our 2.5yr old and have made 0 progress going on 4 days. He’s super smart and inquisitive and we probably made a mistake in having high expectations. He’s just super freaked out about the potty and just holds everything in.

Parents holding large amount of a financial stock in their portfolio (Truist financial/$TFC). I’m helping them figure out investments since their inheritance. While everything else is recovering well, it’s still down like 30%... should we continue to hold? Financials seem strong, not sure why it’s not recovering.

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!

Looking for a role in healthcare, preferably WFH. I’ve been in healthcare for 3 years, with a Masters and only making $18.61. I need a change and I’m hoping someone will share good leads. Thank you!!

I was just offered an RN II position at Stanford Hospital’s B3 unit for $84/hour. Are there any RNs out there who can tell me what it’s like working on the unit and if it’s worth leaving my job for? I love my current job, my schedule and the people. I have no problems with it except that it’s 1.5 hours away from my family and it pays $25/hour less than Stanford.

Also, do you think it’s too late to ask if I can visit the unit before I make my decision? Thanks in advance.

Hi. I have been offered a position as a Supplemental Credential Epic trainer. I have no experience but recently obtained my masters degree in nursing informatics. I also have a 4 year experience as an RN. Looking to find information regarding salary range for epic trainers in NJ

Any Med Express or other Urgent Care Managers out there? Is it worth it? Is pay decent? Etc. I have a BA in Healthcare Administration and Management and 3 YOE as a PCP office manager, 5.5 YOE in Healthcare altogether.

Got word that my dept will be laid off. Currently work Case Management which I don't really enjoy. Looking for a career change, WFH preferably. Any leads?

I am a project manager with the strong desire to transition into product management but I’m feeling a little discouraged. Every opportunity I come across mentions 7-10 years experience. I just started training for the Google UX certification with hopes that may better prepare me. Any other suggestions? Words of advice on how to best make this transition?

Thanks in advance!

Wanting to switch from my corporate job to a remote job as medical virtual assistant. Any recommendations where to apply?

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

I recently started a position as a business office assistant in a retirement home. I have a B.S. in Psychology and some relevant experience. I'm paid 20/hr in South Florida. Is this reasonable pay or am I being cut short?

I've been working in the NHS as an orthopaedic surgeon for over 10 years. I have recently made the transition over to industry working for a pharmcovigilance and certification body TUV SUD. Early signs are great. I know several clinicians who are currently advocating the overworked underpaid mantra and would like a referral. Let me know if you are keen to hear more.
