My organization has told that I need to come back into the office full time after I have been WFH (without issue) since last March. I have a 6 month old baby at home, and my bubble consists only of the people I live with. We don’t do anything, go anywhere unless absolutely essential, etc. my job is such that first responders are in and out of the office and the work building all the time, and plenty of them have caught (and passed on) covid to other individuals. Am I being overly dramatic-cont.
My MOH is probably not going to be able to attend my wedding bc of covid restrictions. Freaking out slightly because I don't have someone close enough to replace her / I don't know how viable her zooming in would be? Any advice / tips?
Have any of your law firms published a new or revised “remote work” policy - specifically what it might look like post Covid? We’ve had a lot of employees (in all peer groups) say they would like some type of flexibility to work at home going forward. We are trying to start a draft with some perimeters and look at all the pluses and minuses.
Who left consulting recently due to Up or Out culture? Did you change your mind about Up or Out post COVID?
Who else is spending more time/resources on fitness and skincare so you come out better looking than you did pre-COVID? Are you seeing intended results?
Door Dash almost $100. Who’s buying Puts on that? They weren’t even profitable before covid...expect the same thereafter. Airbnb. All in here
Why can't these people just work hard like the rest of us?!? Hands up! Don't loot! https://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-connected-lobbyists-secure-coronavirus-financial-aid/
The federal stance is shifting regarding the reopening...”He [President Trump] demanded that all of the nation’s schools reopen for the fall semester — until, suddenly, he allowed for some wiggle room.” The Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-week-of-retreat-the-president-reverses-course-as-the-coronavirus-surges-out-of-control/2020/07/24/bf680c2c-cdc2-11ea-91f1-28aca4d833a0_story.html
Covid19 - the facts Is it ok to start a thread here guys ? I work with the TechHandbook and also keeping a good eye on Ruqqus Covid19 https://coronavirustechhandbook.com/
Why exactly people are so scared of Covid? Even if you catch it, very likely you will recover. What am I missing?
Between Covid and protesting, how are you all staying sane in all this? I can’t focus on anything and I feel so much guilt on top of all the other stress.
Anyone having some PTSD issues during Covid?
Can I apply infosys after 6 months after rejecting their offer ? Should I use a new Email ID? N.B. I have rejected the offer due to parental COVID infection on middle of second wave. I need a long leave which may not be possible while serving notice period. Informed and mailed HR with proper documents.HR accepted the same politely.
For those of you who have moved back home(due to COVID or holidays), how has your dating life been impacted?
Just want to thank the people in this bowl for giving me advice on several posts awhile back post-COVID layoffs. Had taken on 2 other (senior) people’s jobs/duties and then successfully managed and executed 3 major projects, I finally asked my new boss (team lead) about a title change and I’m glad I did! It was definitely something he had not thought about but could see the clear reasoning behind it and was willing to go to HR to ask if it was possible.
My utilization has been so low since COVID closed off the offices. Should I be worried? Should I reach out to my relationship/career coach? Change to another group/line of service??
So during COVID time, I see more and more people are shifting their attention to MBA instead getting to FAANG? Sounds like a good time to study amid this hard time.
Kamala Harris and Betsy DeVos agree; if the country really valued education, we would pay teachers like the professionals they are. If we don’t get over this babysitter/women’s job mentality, we will go into a critical tailspin of losing teachers. I’m sure you already know that very well, as indeed most teachers either have a second job, need one, or have considered quitting altogether, but this opinion piece is trying to start a discussion to educate the general public. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/28/opinion/teacher-pay-covid.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage
Ladies and gents- when/if you had option for timed intercourse (~15% chance of pregnancy) vs IUI (~30% chance), which one did you/would you do in the time of COVID? Option 2 requires partner and me returning to hospital tomorrow (I was here today). Option 1 obviously does not. Thanks for your advice in advance! This is following second round of clomid, FYI.
Better to be a big fish in a small pond or a little fish in a big pond for MBA apps (I.e. superstar at B4 or mediocre/below average at MBB; metaphorically speaking ofc, ik the B4 is technically bigger in terms of size but you understand the point in terms of competitiveness)?

What are good classroom norms to estbalish with students at the beginning of the school year?
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
How much do Accenture first year consultants make? Assume a 2 YOE out of undergrad. Would you stay at KPMG or leave for Accenture if Accenture was giving close to a 30% raise?
Advice wanted: My firm lied about our raises this year. They said we’d match the other top 10 firms, and that was absolute BS. I’m having a hard time staying motivated. I’m doing senior level work without the title or pay. Fresh college grads are getting paid more than me. I’m already job searching, but I feel bad that I don’t have the same drive as I did before when I thought I would be receiving a proper raise. I learned my lesson. Any advice for a young professional?
Round 1: 30m call w/ recruiter Offline exercise ETC: 3hr Round 2: 1h to discuss exercise w/ interview team Final Round: 2h skills role-play interview and 1h “values” interview. Is this normal?
Is it good to apply to a company if you aren't planning on accepting a role? I like to keep up my interview skills and search the market, but if I interview at a company I may want to work for some day, will they see a past interview as good? Or what about if I reject an offer?
Let’s hear some stories of adversity and overcoming challenges. Socioeconomic, race, gender, disability etc. Work or personal. I think we all need some inspiration that we can overcome, no matter what.
Are all roles at MBB highly travel oriented?

M&A case study Hi, I have a case study coming up for an M&A generalist manager position. Already done partner and director interviews. Does anyone have any experience with "Do a quick back of the envelope analysis to calculate the companies FCF profile" or anything else to expect from an information memorandum?
What’s the most wild story you’ve been given as to why an employee can’t get the vaccine / wear a mask per your company guidelines?
