Im in dallas thinking about moving to Seattle lol. Dallas is boring af. Dont come here.
No. Not hyperbole. I’ve been to literally over 100 countries.
I’m not going to figure out some rank for Dallas. It’s a cool city with good food, good music, and cheap rent. I never said it was the best, or anywhere close to the best. I just said it wasn’t boring.
Dallas is, overall and compared to the other cities I’ve been to, definitely not one I’d call boring.

Dallas living is very boring tbh. If you’re into outdoors, I’d stay in Seattle. If you need a change in scenery of flat suburbs, Dallas is your place
I loves living in Dallas. I need the sun to be happy.
Dallas is great if you are "in the circle". Great place if you are married or have kids. Most of the year, it is wayyyyyyy too hot for outdoor activities.
Weak. it’s hot but plenty of people ride bikes around WRL, run Katy Trail, and MTB at north shore or cedar ridge preserve all year long.
You’ll be shocked at what $1.5k a month will get you in Dallas as far as apartments go.
I am always surprised that this used to justify that a city is a good place to live.
"So few people want to live here so we have enough space that we will pay you to take a 4000 sq ft house on a 1 acre lot off our hands. Also there are a ton of good jobs that allow people to bid up the price of these mansions to dizzying heights"
You get that one of the reasons that SF, Seattle, and NYC are so expensive is that a lot of people want to live there and there are a ton of good jobs, right?
Dallas is officially the DB capital of the USA. Even native Dallas residents admit to it. I personally know so many of them.
The whole rest of Texas makes fun of Dallas for it among many other things.
Dallas is like that annoying coworker of yours. The one with a trust fund that drank too much in high school, ended up going to a private uni with donations to the chancellor from daddy, graduated with a 2.5, got a job as an analyst because uncle is an MD, and always acts like they are everyone's boss in every project.
But the economy there is good. So it depends on what is important to you.
I’m from Dallas and always struggle to find things to do there outside of dining/bars. Moved to Denver a long time ago never looked back.

Say Hi to:
Tex Mex food, greatest bbq on earth, big houses, sunny weather, wider roads, friendly people
Say Goodbye to:
Scenic landscapes, outdoor activities, Ocean, Bigtech, Seafood

I’m not sure why any rational person capable of living and working in Seattle would ever choose anywhere in Texas.
The word “metroplex” terrifies me

Seattle is a logarithmically better city
I moved out of Seattle. The biggest thing I miss is being able to wake up Saturday morning and decide to go on a hike. Well, that and 24h coffee shops. What I don’t miss is the traffic, the people, the cost of living, and the 9 months of overcast weather. I am a huge fan of trying new cities and recommend moving if you have any desire to do so.
Seattle to Austin would be better . Dallas is boring 🧐
