Good morning everyone! I am currently working as an Occupational Therapist at a Level 1 center but am looking to pivot into the clinical research field. Can anyone give any insight into transitioning from bedside to clinic research? Everytime I look online there seems to be certificate programs that may or may not be a scam/waste of money. Would appreciate any thoughts, insight, personal experience, referral., etc.!
Thank you!
I’ve noticed referrals for big companies don’t do much, especially if they’re from strangers like on Fishbowl. Of course, it’s better than nothing, but a good way to supplement that referral (or work around one if you can’t get it) is to reach out to the Hiring Manager on LinkedIn. This has been so much more effective for me. Look up relevant teams/titles— e.g. Manager, Product Design at Google, located in London— and send them a connection request.
“Hi [NAME], Saw you’re hiring for a [ROLE]- I’d love to be considered. I have [X] YOE in [INDUSTRY], and specialize in [RELEVANT SKILLS]. Would love to connect and discuss further!”
Good luck!
Ahh noted! Thank you so much for the tip 😊 Will do that as well! Have taken up a LinkedIn premium plan, so should a bit more feasible 😅
