Obviously varies by company but I think biggest question is whether you’ll be doing SOX or not? SOX sucks in that it’s boring and you often have busy seasons. If it’s operational/nonSOX, then WLB is usually good and you often have more interesting projects and relationships with the business
Thank you ! The company actually has a separate SOX department. I was told the same about SOX
Usually if there is an internal audit team, then it's SOX compliance related. For internal audit, depends on size of the pubco and travel. Some folks have more travel than others.
recommend IA if you’re looking for work life balance! great as long as you’re not doing SOX. ideal situation is separate SOX and IA teams that just sometimes coordinate the timing of audits w SOX testing. great spot to see all areas of the business and make contact and relationships. lot of exposure to senior management if that’s important to you. but also company dependent i guess
Okay thank you for your input. Exactly the position is IA in house for a public company and the company has a separate SOX department. They also outsource their IT testing.
Are you doing IA in house at a company? IA group at Big4? There’s a difference in WLB btw the two.
Thank you !
